I doubt the producers of 'Grease' on Broadway believe Taylor Hicks is 'forgettable' considering they see their profits skyrocket $150K/week since he started. Your blatant negative bias negates all credibility as far as I'm concerned.

May I remind you the AI tour from Season 5 was sold out in every city and they actually had to add several shows all because of TAYLOR HICKS. Taylor Hicks is far from forgettable.
I agree with Michelle above - check out the stats from "Grease". Why write about something without doing research.

Journalists like you should go back to high school. Maybe enroll in Rydell High. If you don't know where that is, try watching Grease on Broadway where Taylor Hicks' star is shining brightly. Try doing your homework before you write another column -- about anyone.

If you think Taylor Hicks has been forgotten you obviously haven't been paying much attention. Too bad, cause you are missing some wonderful entertainment. Standing O's at his Broadway show and his "Early Works" CD is great and the reports of the new CD coming out this year are very intriguing. I and thousands of others who are on the boards every day can not wait.

I think this journalists knows what Taylor Hicks is doing. I think this journalists knows that if he mentions Taylor Hicks in his article about this years AI tour he will get hits and just maybe TPTB from AI is feeding this crap to journalist to try and get more interest in this years tour. Maybe this journalists and other papers are getting paid by someone from AI to put out this CRAP. They may not like him but they sure know how to use him. Taylor is doing great, "Grease", "Early Works CD out next month, new CD coming out this year. So please don't anyone worry about Taylor Hicks!

keepsitreal,
That's what I was saying, why the need to bring Taylor Hicks name into this article about AI tour 2008. Way to go David Cook on your win. Hope nothing but great things coming your way!

My entire family arranged our vacation in order to see the concert in Las Vegas. No doubt David Archuleta stole the show. Cook was adequate, but Archuleta absolutely was amazing. It was worth the price of the ticket just to see him.

I agree with Emily V. What an amazing talent David Archuleta is. Listen Chicago, I saw this kid and he is amazing. Suffer thru the first part of the concert because Archuleta is superb. To quote Randy, molten hot".

Taylor Hicks is getting standing ovations on Broadway and has several projects coming soon. Taylor will be famous and rich longer than anyone from american idol. He is multi talented and has charisma up the sky. AI5 tour led by Taylor Hicks outsold all Idol tours. I really can't see anyone from season 6 or 7 lasting. Think before you write.

I saw the AI concert tour and David Archuleta was absolutely brilliant in his performances and the screams were deafening (I would advise people to bring their ear plugs if they're afraid to ruin their eardrums). Archuleta's voice, phrasing, tone, and his stage persona were just beyong amazing. He has greatly improved on the stage without the judges in front of him. Cook was great also. His set was very loud of course because he is a rocker. I believed the loud instrumentations made his set so it's hard to know exactly what he was singing about unless you've heard of the songs before. So yes, his set was mostly lots of noise and it's hard to appreciate his singing voice because of it. Sometimes he screams...well, too loud. I'm sure people who love rock music would appreciate him more than others. Michael Johns was also beyong amazing. He was voted out too early. He really did rock the house. Carly Smithson is a great singer but she screams too much too. By the time she was done with her set, I thought if she would have sung with more feeling/emotion rather than made sure she sang all the high notes with all her might, she would have sounded so much better. Sayesha surprised me at the concert. I can't believe how beautiful her singing voice is. I didn't think much of her on the AI show. I thought she was pretty averaged. However, during her set, she really did deliver. She was wonderful. She has the voice to be a great singer. I wish though that she can get away from the shadows of Whitney Houston. People think of Sayesha as a poor copycat to Whitney which is, I think, a big disadvantage for her. Everyone else did good. Rami Malubay is always put down as the "weakest link". However, she really is a great singer too. I don't know, it's either she is nervous or that her songs don't fit her well but she really did deliver and sang her heart out during her set. Chikezee was another great one. Jason Castro's was great but I noticed he wasn't as good as I remember him on the AI show. I don't know, perhaps he was just tired that night. Brooke was amazing also. She accompanied herself on the piano and guitar. She has a beautiful voice and has a special aura about her.

"I am your brother, your best friend forever. Singing the songs, the music that you like. Oooiii! We're brothers til the end of time, and forever til the end of time.

I am your brother, your best friend forever. Singing the songs, the music that you love. Oooiii! We're brothers til the end of time, together or not you're always in my heart. Your hurt your feelings in you will rain no more.

(repeat)

I love you brother."

Can I go on the tour?

It's funny that even after two years writers know they will generate interest in their columns by mentioning Taylor Hicks. He is without a doubt the most versatile winner of AI ever, and will be entertaining audiences for many years to come. Best wishes to all the contestants from this year's show and much success to each of them. They have all worked hard to get where they are today.

You forgot Jason Castro. he was incredible at the LA show. After the 2 Davids, Jason gets the loudest and most emotional reactions.

I went to the show in Tacoma, Washington, and enjoyed all the performances. The one who surprised me the most, in a good way, was Michael Johns. I hadn't been too impressed with him on the show, but he sounded fantastic live. Brooke White's voice sounded richer and more powerful live as well. But the one I LOVED the most was David Archuleta. That boy can sing! What a fabulous voice, and his performance level has gone up several notches since the television show. Without the constraints of the sometimes silly American Idol format, he is blossoming as a performer.

David Cook has claimed the 2008 Idol crown with maturity, poise, and humility. He proved with songs like Billie Jean, Music of the Night, All I Really Need Is You, and Eleanor Rigby, that he is versatile vocally. He will be a star. He oozes charisma, and he is good-looking. The whole package. A star.
