Food for thought
The organizers in his way of life, with his curiosity, irreverence, imagination, sense of humor, distrusted dogma, his self organization, his understanding of the irrationality of much of human behavior, becomes a flexible personality, not a rigid structure that breaks when something unexpected happens. Having his own identity, he has no need for the security of an ideology or a panacea. He knows that life is a quest for uncertainty; that the only certain fact of life is uncertainty; and he can live with it. He knows that all values are relative, in a world of political relativity. Because of these qualities he is unlikely to disintegrate into cynicism and disillusionment, for he does not depend on illusion.
Finally, the organizer is constantly creating the new out of the old. He knows that all new ideas arise from conflict; that every time man has had a new idea it has been a challenge to the sacred ideas of the past and the present and inevitably a conflict has raged. Curiosity, irreverence, imagination, sense of humor, a free and open mind, an acceptance of the relativity of values and of the uncertainty of life, all inevitably fuse into the kind of person whose greatest joy is creation. He conceives of creation as the very essence of the meaning of life. In his constant striving for the new, he finds that he cannot endure what is repetitive and unchanging. For him hell would be doing the same thing over and over again.
This is the basic difference between the leader and the organizer. The leader goes on to build power to fulfill his desires, to hold and wield the power for purposes both social and personal. He wants power himself. The organizer finds his goal in creation of power for others to use.
Saul Alinsky.

The last paragraph is most interesting to me.

Create what power? Who are these others that will wield it?
How many czars are we up to?

The current US economy status: Consumer spending
An issue in particular is a slowdown in consumer spending. From the start of 2004 through July, real consumer spending rose by $122.2 billion. That is $209.5 billion, or 2.8% at annual rate, and compares with an overall increase of $232.2 billion (3.3%) in 2003 and of $213 billion (3.1%) in 2002. For perspective, during the boom years 1999-2000, it had growth rates of 5.1% and 4.7%.
Though this deterioration is not dramatic, it also does not suggest an ongoing recovery. Yet the aggregates hide one rather dramatic change in the current year, namely, sharply lower growth in spending on consumer durables. At annual rate, it was down to $23.5 billion in the first seven months of 2004, after $71 billion in 2003 and $58 billion in 2002.
Still, there has been a dramatic change for the worse in the consumer's earning power. Since January 2004, the three-month annualized growth rate for real disposable personal income has literally collapsed: 5.7%, 4.6%, 4.5%, 3.7%, 2.5% and 0.8% for July. Over the seven months to July 2004, real disposable income was up a mere $77.4 billion, or $132.7 billion at annual rate. It grew by $174.3 billion in 2003 and by $226.2 billion in 2002.

Excellent Information Bill, thanks for the inclusion. I have tried to explain this information in remedial terms to on avail.

Seems Facts are of little value on these threads.

Further more, the consequences of the Bush Fiscal policies are that they have retarded the advantages of the Clinton Welfare Reforms of 1996, which reduced those American Citizens dependent on Aid to Needy Families to a low of 3.4 Million American Citizens in a population of more than 300 million.

I am not a racist but believe inside all of the Terrorist there is a American just waiting to get out! They want Ipods, PS3, Big Screen Tvs and the chance to get lap dances from single parent mother trying to make there way through community college just like the rest of us! They want to collect food stamps and cheat on taxes, they want there Abortions paid for by Liberal Democrats that feel for there dilemma! And most of all they want to have eight kids at a time so they can have there own reality TV show!
.
They have two roads that lead to there divine liberation one is taking advantage of the American system by getting all the handouts they can possibly get and the other involves a large amount of Explosives guaranteeing them a one way ticket to oblivion! They seem to believe that there is a ready supply of Virgins willing to have sexual intercourse with complete mad men that have destroyed themselves and there ability to perform basic erotic foreplay!
.
If they have any mental aptitude what so ever I t would seem they have waited it on basic electricity and the knowledge of wiring IEDs. If they have any hope of achieving there goals of taking over the world it would seem they could attend Chinas back to the Basics Seminar Series on how to Eliminate Capitalism!
.
.
.
.Lets Face it America if we don’t act now we will continually be bombarded with scheme after scheme trying to over through our way of life! I think 2010 should be the beginning of a National push to eliminate all second and Third world countries! We should take this time to form a collation of industrialized nations to help destroy all nations that do not agree with our way of life. Lets now form with all nations that have 21 century militaries to take over the world and eliminate all non hackers! We can take there Natural Resources, Gold, military hardware, and enslave there people to do task that is considered unsafe for our citizens!
.
We can slowly inoculate there people so they are no longer able to bread and use there educated citizens to control the nonconformist! Little by little the world populations would begin to come under control and the Green House Gase emissions would slowly return to normal! The persons with healthy viable organs will be put into a system to provide medical help to those of us that would be considered the elite and of desirable breeding stock!

Sounds like a personal choice resulted in the job status of a citizens unemployed coupled wtih lack of sufficient professional skills and, the insuing consequences suffered are being blamed on Politicians, where's that attitude of Self Responsibility and taken credit for one's own actions.
Why would an individual allow the Government to do for them and their obligations what apparently those same individuals are willing to do for themselves? If there is ample employment in New Jersey, why would someone remain in California? More pointedly, how is a decision like this President's Obama's fault?
How is it Bush's fault?

Did something change to make it possible for these folks to suddenly move?

<quoted text>
"The current US economy status
Renewed weakness in the US economy has hardly come as a surprise to us. It is the inexorable outgrowth of an economic recovery that has been of highly dubious quality right from the start. The US economy is plagued by an extraordinary array of growth-impairing imbalances: a record-high trade deficit, a record-high budget deficit, record-high household indebtedness, record-low national saving and asset price bubbles supporting record-high consumer spending.
Any other country faced with these monstrous domestic and external imbalances would have endured panicky capital flight and a collapsing currency, forcing its central bank to drastic monetary tightening. But the US central bank and the dollar were spared this fate because the central banks of the Asian surplus countries stepped in, accumulating any amount of dollars needed to avoid an undesired rise of their currencies.
In 2003, such dollar purchases by foreign central banks amounted to a stunning $616.6 billion, after $351.9 billion the year before. The total reserves of emerging Asia rose by over $350 billion between the beginning of 2003 and March 2004. Over the same time, Japan's central bank purchased $316 billion worth of US assets. The biggest buyer in emerging Asia was the central bank of China.
The current US economy status: The Fed's monetary policy
These huge and soaring dollar purchases by foreign central banks were crucial in allowing the US Federal Reserve to pursue its ultra-loose monetary policy with ultra-low interest rates. As we have often stressed, this in combination with equally loose fiscal policy has prevented a deeper recession, but the question is whether or not these policies have laid the foundation for sustained economic growth in the longer run.
In our view, it is bad policy on both sides. The Asian central banks accommodate the credit excesses in the United States, and in doing so, fuel rampant credit excesses in their own countries. Japan's horrible aftermath over more than a decade after its credit excesses in the late 1980s does not seem to deter anybody. The United States, on the other hand, is losing jobs to Asia.
Both are courting extraordinary credit excess, but with a crucial difference: In the United States, the credit excess went and continues to go overwhelmingly into asset prices and personal consumption; in Asia, it goes overwhelmingly into capital investment and production, essentially creating a mass of overcapacity and malinvestments. The result is an unprecedented symbiosis between the two continents: The Americans borrow and consume, and the Asians produce.
The US economy has abruptly weakened. Is this weakness just a short-lived "soft patch" caused by higher oil prices, as emphasized by Fed Chairman Alan Greenspan and readily believed by the eternally bullish consensus? Or does it represent the beginning of a more severe downshift to subpar corporate and economic performance, if not worse?

Bush crafted TARP, the Congressional compromise was that the incoming president would have half the allocated funds availalbe for distribution as he may see fit to move the economy from a point of being stalled.

Bush and Paulson effectively gave their half of TARP Funds away without any requirements on repayment conditions and interest terms. Obama recrafted and introduced conditions and implemented terms for repayment of any funds distributed/lent from TARP Funding.

If we have a world war now we well be able to create jobs on a unprecedented scale…. Just think of the work and factories need to supply the war efforts.

We will have Woodstock all over again.

There will be a great peace movement after its over.

I will give us a chance to kill off all the nonconformist…

We will get government cheese once again…

There will be three girls for every boy….

And Hollywood will be able to bring back all those cheesy biker movies…..

Maybe even 2008bill will be able to tell how he single handedly won the war?

That may be because you live in a state with near 10% unemployment, there's not much room for growth and development in desired locations in your region.

There was just a completion of a 6 Billion Dollar Project in Vegas, in locations where unemployment isn't beyond 8% construction workers aren't complaining. There are less than 15 States in America with unemployment in the predicment and range as Georgia's Alabama, Tennessee and South Carolina are all in similar conditions.

That's not suprising that region is and has always been a economic wasteland.

The southern States were Unemployment is high, Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, South Carolina and Kentucky were the same states who economic development strategies were to give Tax incentives, lands and money to foreign manufactures to open production facilities in those states.

Those southern states gave Millions in future tax revenues to Foreign Manufactuers. The Same States playing host to ideas of revolution. How are those budget shortfalls playing out now?

Obama gave incentives to American Manufactuers with repayment schedules slated to be completed in the near future and there was total outcry of socialism. Why is it accepted in those States for Foreign Manufactures and not acceptable for American Corporations with planned repayment schedules?
