it would be nice if obamma can remember what he promised in the campaign, but needless to say, all promises are off....
no one can say he did not know what was going on, he did, and that cannot be denied. he knew the state of the economy, the wars, etc. nothing was hidden. he was supposed to be the messiah and that is what the media and he said he was, now, deliver......
but how can obamma deliver when he has no clue in the world what it means to be an effective leader....all he ever did was campaign for a higher office, got the presidency, and now he is on his way to failure a la, jimmy carter.....
what good is he? can't see or figure it out yet, and certainly, all those who voted for him now should jump for joy when they are waiting for their food stamps, unemployment checks, and calling the credit card companies and mortgage companies to give their excuses as to why they cannot pay their bills... ahhhhhhhhh happiness, and now waiting for the manna!!!!!!

This country is good and truly f****d. There are no easy answers and there are no easy solutions. What was McCain going to do about it? What did George Bush do about it? What would Hillary have done about it? What did Obama promise that he would do within the first 3 weeks that he has not done?
What would you suggest be done? Do you have any constructive ideas or are you just another bitchy whiner?

But the solution is certainly NOT to sit on the sidelines and do nothing. That's what the previous occupant did for eight years. But instead of TAX and Spend (the tired mantra of the Repugincons), we got tax CUT and SPEND. Great. Now they just want to stand in the way, flapping their jaws. No leaders there, that's for sure. Lead, follow or get out of the way.

I remember a a BaindAid commercial from years back "I am stuck on Band-Aid, and Band-Aid's stuck on me."
This is a Band-Aid and we will be revisiting the same issues 1.5 years from now when Obama is unable to create 4 million jobs. What ever left liberal gave him that idea that he would be able to do that..is obviously smoking something. Oh well...as a Repub...I get to sit back and watch the circus continue.

I wish the Republicans would get the hell out of the way, so this country could move forward with the stimulus package. They are nothing but a bunch of damn sore tailed losers.

BTW...that is what Reagen did...and he was your so called Repugincons...whatever that is? Reagan's 1981 tax cut came without significant spending cuts. DO your research!

I was frustrated by the hyperbole and scare tactics on TV tonight with the President trying to force his 800 billion dollar social engineering project on the American people. We are learning from the way the first half of TARP was spent that not only does “haste make waste” but also “government haste makes government waste”. Some influx of money into the economy is probably necessary but there is much that can be done through tax credits and adjustment of small business laws that can bring back people’s confidence and start the economy moving again without spending a fortune (or our children’s future fortunes) in a rushed and reckless manner. There is every indication that politicians are using this economic downturn and people’s fears to put through all of the government controls and liberal policies that they couldn’t get through under normal circumstances. What we need now from the President is calm leadership that speaks positively of how we can come together and get through this economic downturn, not an angry and defensive infomercial for this massive spending bill.

Tax cuts do not create federal deficits; greater government spending does. That is the message tax-cut supporters must hammer home, according to political analysts and economists. Otherwise this truth will be drowned out in the media in a deluge of confusion.
AMEN!!!!

Obviously you are another Kool Aid drinker. -yes I am on a roll tonight fellow posters...this is a joke and I am literally appalled at how many people voted this man in office.

So we got into this mess by blindly letting our president do whatever he wanted. Now, to get out of this mess, we should sit back and blindly let our president do whatever he wants. Change indeed.

It helps to be able to spell the name of your president.
It takes such little effort.
Like voting.
I hope you know who you are, but I doubt it.

It IS very serious. Perhaps we should take him at his word. If he sugarcoated it, wouldn't the critics say that he was lying and afraid to tell us the truth? It is very bad. And it is going to get much worse before it gets better. Hopefully the stimulus package will slow the bleeding and maybe it will not. But the alternative (doing nothing or waiting for trickle down economics to work) is unacceptable.

Don't blame the GOP for your problems, Barack. Your people put this pork bill together. The GOP will be glad to go along with a sensible, articulate plan that helps American businesses regain their footing. Your bill is almost entirely waste and favors to be doled out to your cronies. We thought you wanted "change" in DC.......... looks like more of the same to me!

The difference is that this president is much smarter than the last one and he doesn't think that God is whispering in his ear justifying his every whim and action. It is change and it is better than what McCain and Palin would have offered - and since that was our choice last November, that is the ONLY valid measuring stick that can be applied.
