It just doesn't add up, My Governor is in jail and this Melon/Head murderer is fundraising and out of jail. Governor Blagojevichs only crime was he was not a yes man flunky to Michael Madigan or his daughter Lisa Madigan. He was railroaded for being a peoples GOVERNOR. They had to try him twice which is suspect in itself, how could this happen? This always happens to the good guys, And hell yes I agree with him about "Bank of America". I can only hope Melon/Head zimmerboy gets tried twice!

Zimmerman has yet to have his day in court. Unfortunately, your comment reveals more about your intelligence by name calling, no mentioning of facts, and as an obvious voter for state corruption. The Madigan's and Blago (along with Emanuel, Durbin, Jesse jackson jr and many more) are equally corrupt and push the Chicago way which is to lie, cheat and steal. On behalf of the state south of Joliet, Thanks for making IL the embarassing bankrupt state that it is!

Obviously you're a reject from the south who had to move to Illinois to get a decent job, since we're so corrupt why are you here? What justice system? They tried my Governor twice, what facts do you need, Everytime you right-wing nutt jobs gets pushed into a corner you start yelling out Sean Insanity talking points. Facts, Facts, to divert the attention off of you. Corruption is a broad word, could me someone who refuses to follow the crowd, Not being a kiss azz suck/up can be contrude as corruption. I think spending $75000.00 dollars on a bullshtte college major that will be outdated by the time you graduate a find a job is corruption; there's a fact fer/ya jizzbucket head. Another fact is Melon/Head shot and killed a young man for nothing and he isn't even a policeman. Governor Blagojevich didn't murder anyone, he only told Bank of America to spend the Stimulas money the way it was intended or get the hell out of the State of Illinois. You want more facts smartass? Any monkey knows how to google.

The State of Illinois is not Bankrupt; you can eat 24hrs a day here, you can buy gas 24hrs a day here, everyone has a cellphone with texting and smartphones and everyone has internet access, the malls are open everyday, Michigan Ave is open nothing shut/down, construction is still building places for you to shop, Hotels are booked to capacity, the trains are running with people on them everyday, the airports are busy that they even raised the fares for a little pocket change, every car on the road is a new one or less than 6years old, Hertz, Avis, Budget, Enterprize, all busy, My State is doing fine, what we don't need is you southern hicks moving up here with your T/Party talking points trying to screw it up like you did to the great state of Wisconsin.

Tanglefoot continues to spew his senseless smack for a guilty corrupt politician. This is the mind, body and soul of a bo voter. Funny how he has so much time to comment throughout the day. Makes one wonder what he does for a living or what kind of family person this is. I guess when someone has relied on govt to fund their life they have the time to paw at a keyboard hourly and will defend that to the end. Patty won't be able to pay for anyone that wants to defend a guilty man (her father will see to that). Remember, "I got this thing......and its fu--ing golden".

Patty can raise just as much money as Sarah Palin! She may not be as pretty as Sarah Palin but the decent people of Illinois loved Rod Blagojevich as a governor because he was a peoples governor, so if you can't handle that you need to just STFU and get the F' over it.
Let's go Supreme Court; Sotomayor it's time to do your service and show us what you got.
And Clarence you know you owe us one.

Group's suit challenges campaign contribution caps in Illinois. The Illinois Liberty PAC is headed by radio talk show host and failed 2010 GOP primary governor candidate Dan Proft.(Chris…) The legal arm of the conservative Illinois Policy Institute has filed a federal lawsuit asking that Rod Blagojevich-inspired campaign contribution limits be declared unconstitutional because donations from political leaders are not regulated in general elections. The Liberty Justice Center suit alleges that limits of $5,000 on individuals,$10,000 on corporations and unions, and $50,000 on political action committees violate the equal protection and free speech rights of the Illinois Liberty PAC. The PAC is headed by radio talk show host and failed 2010 GOP primary governor candidate Dan Proft. Breaking: Mitt RomneyNew report shows he didn't leave Bain Capital in 1999 as he claimed. barackobama.com/romney-bain-record Mitt Romney and GST SteelTrying to save a closing plant Learn the truth about GST Steel www.MittRomney.com Lawmakers enacted the limits in 2009 after impeaching the now-imprisoned former governor. But party leaders who direct the bulk of the campaign spending to House and Senate members exempted themselves from limits in general elections. Earlier this year, a federal court allowed independent expenditure groups to raise and spend unlimited amounts of money as long as they do not coordinate their activities with a candidate, essentially legalizing so-called super PACs in the state. A new state law lifts the caps in contests where those super PACs spend heavily. The Illinois Coalition for Political Reform said it has long believed that party contributions to candidates should be limited. But it said the Illinois Liberty PAC is "sorely mistaken in suggesting that Illinois should return to the bad old days of Blagojevich-style shake downs and pay-offs, which were disguised as campaign contributions under Illinois' earlier, unrestricted campaign finance system." Obama attacks on taxes and Bain hit Romney ratings.

CHICAGO — A judge on Thursday sentenced one of the most unsavory figures to emerge from the investigation of former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich to just 5½ years in prison, heeding praise for the former political insider as one of the most important cooperating witnesses in the state's sordid history of corruption. Moments before the judge announced the sentence for money laundering and fraud, a somber Stuart Levine stood ramrod straight at a courtroom podium, apologizing for a laundry list of scams in which he used influence on state boards to line his pockets with millions of dollars. "I wish to express my deep regret to the people of Illinois," said the admitted former drug addict and serial swindler, now 66. He added that he has "profound remorse and deep regret for all that I have done." Otherwise composed, his voice momentarily cracked as he also apologized to his children for the pain he caused them. Later, Judge Amy St. Eve acknowledged Levine played central roles in bringing several public figures to justice. But she said he also cheated business partners, hospitals, charities and others — once even swindling a dead friend's estate and the man's deaf daughter out of $2 million. His schemes included using a seat on the Illinois Health Facilities Planning board to shake down hospitals for kickbacks. And he ran similar swindles at the $40 billion state teachers' pension fund. "You are certainly one of the most corrupt individuals this district has ever seen," the judge told him. "It is clear you would stop at nothing for your greedy ends." Levine, who must report to prison on Sept. 27, faced a maximum life sentence. In the end, though, the judge chose to impose the term prosecutors recommended in a 2006 plea deal. In his remarks, prosecutor Chris Niewoehner praised Levine for trial testimony that helped convict former Blagojevich fundraiser Tony Rezko and longtime Illinois powerbroker William Cellini. Levine didn't testify at Blagojevich's trials. But Niewoehner said he deserved substantial credit for evidence that led to the conviction of Blagojevich, who is serving a 14-year term for corruption. "Mr. Levine was a historic cooperator," Niewoehner said, adding that those he helped convict deserved to be in "a hall of fame of ... corruption." He told the judge that a show of leniency for Levine also would encourage others who become ensnared in corruption investigations in the future to cooperate. "There will come a day when another Stuart Levine is confronted by the FBI," he said. It may be hard for many to imagine another man quite as unique as Levine. His testimony at the Rezko and Cellini trial about his decadent past was as disturbing as it was captivating. He told jurors about snorting multiple lines of a powdered mix of crystal methamphetamine and ketamine in the early 2000s — sometimes at all-night binge parties he flew to by private jet.

Blagojevich appeal delayed due to undone transcripts:
CHICAGO (FOX Chicago News)- Before he went to prison, Rod Blagojevich expressed confidence that his conviction would be overturned on appeal. But so far, no appellate briefs have been filed and no arguments have been heard. Several sources told FOX Chicago News that Rod Blagojevich is upset and disappointed at the lack of progress on his appeal. When former Illinois governor George Ryan was sentenced, his lawyers were in court just five months later, arguing his case. It's been almost eight months since Blagojevich was sentenced on Dec. 7, 2011. His attorneys discussed how they'd appeal six days after that.
"Well there's a tremendous amount of work to do now, we need to read through all the transcripts," defense attorney Lauren Kaeseberg said. "There's two trials, there's a significant amount of work." But FOX Chicago News learned that since then, that first key step toward an appeal - getting the 16,000 pages of transcripts - has not yet been accomplished.
"They have to file briefs. The briefs have to be based on alleged errors that occurred in the course of the trial," Kent College of Law professor Richard Kling said. "Those errors, if they occurred, are reflected in the transcript." The 7th Circuit Court of Appeals recently warned Kaeseberg that she could face monetary or disciplinary sanctions if she didn't explain why the transcripts weren't done yet.
Kaeseberg responded by producing these emails she had sent to Judge James Zagel's court reporter, asking for the transcripts. Finally, about two weeks ago, the court reporter filed her own motion asking for more time, saying she had taken a leave of absence for five and half months and has been swamped with work since her return.
She has now promised to have the transcripts done by late September, with any appellate review not likely for months after then.
There were plenty errors made starting with the Judges refusal to turn over the 302's to the meeting Obama and his lawyer had with four federal agents for over 2 hours. At this meeting Obama's lawyer turned over to the 4 federal agents his internal investigative report (which was the same report he turned over to the press/public just after this meeting) which made NO MENTION of Obama's conversations with Tom Balanoff of the SEIU. Which is very important because Tom Balaonff testified in BOTH Blagojevich trials that he spoke DIRECTLY to Obama via cell phone and that Obama asked him to act as an emissary between the two political camps to convey Obama's Senate pick of Vallerie Jarrett. The Blagojevich defense team requested the minutes to this meeting 5 times and were repeatedly denied by Zagel stating different reasons each time...Also, John Wyma testified in the first trial that he went to the feds of his own free will, which turned out to be a lie that was discovered in the second trial...It was Wyma who tipped off John Chase of the Chicago Tribune and also tipped off Rahm Emanuel...That is why Obama needed an emissary and didn't contact Blago directly...and now with the arrest of Ali Ata it will come out that JJJ perjured himself... But all this appeal stuff is just a show, Obama will pardon Blago just after Christmas...

ORLANDO, Fla.(AP)— Trayvon Martin’s mother has asked for an undisclosed amount of money from a state fund set up to help crime victims with things like funeral expenses and counseling, according to documents obtained by The Associated Press.
The documents, obtained through a public records request, show Sybrina Fulton applied for the compensation benefits after her son was fatally shot last February by neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman in a gated community in Sanford, Fla. It was not immediately clear how Martin’s family would use the money. The state Attorney General’s Office, which administers the Crimes Compensation Trust Fund, refused to disclose the sum sought by Fulton and her former husband, Tracy Martin. Payouts can reach $30,000. Zimmerman, 28, has pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder and says he shot the 17-year-old in self-defense under Florida’s “stand your ground” law. The law allows people to use deadly force, rather than retreat, if they believe their lives are in danger. He is free on $1 million bond as he awaits trial. Zimmerman wasn’t charged until 44 days after Martin’s death, and in those weeks protesters accused the Sanford police department of being racist and botching the investigation. In a March 29 letter, a claims analyst with the Attorney General’s Office notified Fulton that she had been deemed eligible for the compensation benefits. However, no check had been issued to Martin’s parents as of early August. Notes taken by a victims’ advocate who works for the State Attorney’s Office in Sanford show that Tracy Martin had a life insurance policy through his employer that paid for most of the expenses incurred from Trayvon Martin’s death. Despite that, Tracy Martin still had out-of-pocket expenses of $1,300, according to the notes in the records obtained by the AP. The Attorney General’s Office paid out more than $25 million in the 2010-11 fiscal year to more than 16,000 compensation claims. Money for the fund comes from court fees assessed on offenders, as well as other sources. Applicants can be reimbursed for lost wages, funeral expenses, medical expenses and mental health counseling. Fulton’s friend filed the initial application on her behalf as a favor, but Fulton hasn’t had time to fill out the paperwork needed to process the claim, said Ben Crump, an attorney for Martin’s parents. She didn’t want to disclose how much she was applying for and what expenses the money would cover, Crump said. “She has a big stack of papers at her house,” Crump said.“I’m going to encourage her to fill it out.” A hearing on the scheduling of Zimmerman’s trial is set for later this week.
