Gee, another leftist journal. And an Obama guy to boot. Just what Chicago needs. As if nearly every other "journal" in Chicago isn't tilted left, including Chicago Magazine, most of the local newspapers, the weekly neighborhood papers, the freebie papers, and the TV stations. Another gush feature on Obama anyone? Where do Chicago readers and viewers go for a bit of "rightist" or even "centrist" thinking? In the meantime, the bevy of leftwing politicians who run the state, county and municipality are bleeding the citizens dry with high taxes and poor services with little intervention except, thankfully, for the editorial pages of the Tribune on occasion.

Sound like another "Obama is God " paper like the Sun Times. More liberal slanted news from Chicago where Obama controls everything even the press along with his corrupt Chicago Politicians. Why can't a paper not be bias?

Remember it..Hope they lean more to The Onion Style here and there. It's all safe to come out now . Obama made it and now is the "liberal"upperhand. "Liberal" , "Conservativ'..sounds old school now. -Universal-non-political, non voter

Sounds like the partisan fools have never seen the Baffler but know everything about what is in it. For your information, the Baffler is a non partisan publication that mainly exposes the hypocrisies of the Corporate world. I know you partisan fools can't handle anything outside of your black and white, us against them mentality but hopefully someday you will wake up and see that both parties are screwing us and they only exist to serve the corporate and wealthy.

Chili, did you really have to use "partisan fools" twice? Not very creative. Anyway, how much aluminum foil do you go through in a week? You know, between the hats and windows.

Gee,a leftist media outlet...what a novel concept. It can take its place alongside CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, MSNBC, new york times, washington post, boston globe, chicago tribune, etc, etc etc...

To the new Baffler Staff:
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE devote extensive attention to tax increment financing. Put someone on a TIF beat if you have to. It is criminal what is happening with our tax dollars with no oversight.
Get on that and I will buy your magazine.
Thanks

A non-partisan journal would be described as an objective journal, not a "leftist journal." Then again, we haven't had an objective media in decades, if ever.

Well if there were a market for it, there would be a product available. You do understand the marketplace, right? Why don't you do it if there is such a need? I agree it is easier to just complain about what you don't like.

That's all we need in this country - a socialist/communist anti-capitalist rag to reinforce the propaganda.
How intersting is it that the publisher of this commie screed was an intern for Obama.
And the targets of the bumbler...er...bafler...is the consumer and business culture.
The founder of this rag and Obama's intern are reveling in the fact we're in a severe recession.
I can't help to wonder if Obama, too, is reveling in this economic crisis, and doing everything he can to make it worse.
Finally, why does the Baffler get this kind of news coverage. There are newspapers and magazine startups all the time.
No Dems in 2010.

Obama is god paper like the suntimes? I had no idea that the constant guest commentaries from the National Online Review and the Heartland Institute were in any way a support for Obama. If any newspaper prints something the republicants don't agree with it's not middle of the road or a reasonable objection, it's leftist. If talk radio can be dominated by the right, it only makes sense that newspapers are dominated by the left.

but, you want people to consume your toilet rag twice a year, maybe just give it out like streetwise, that is good reading too.
oh wait, didn't "Streetwise" file bankruptcy, but publish it anyways because the homeless need something insulate their box houses in December (it does get might cold here) as they wave their fist at corporate America...shouting...CHANGE, oh give me some of yo change.

Until and unless the Baffler ALSO "exposes the hypocrisies" of the Obama regime, which there are plently of, one can hardly call it "a non partisan publication". Otherwise, it's nothing but a joke and a mouthpiece of the Obama propaganda machine.

This is laughable. Have you ever read any of Frank Thomas' columns? There is not another columnist in this country who is more liberal. They went out of business once and I predict they will again. Just like the radio network that Al Franken was on.

"...I just got back from the hardware store. I went to buy grass seed. The name of the seed?'Rebel'! It's like there's almost no point anymore to the word!"
But, really, would you buy a grass seed called "Maverick?" It's discredited. What's a poor branding consultant to do to satisfy you pinkos?

Gee, all of the pro-corporation/Big business trolls on this website are just having a field day, aren't they. Wassa matter, guys, can't tolerate the idea of someone exposing the fraud and hypocrisy of corporations and Big Business, regardless of their political affiliation? Yes, by all means let us praise all the CEO's and MBA's for all the wonderful things they have inflicted upon us of late. Truly, they care for our welfare. You back country rubes are precious.
