My husband is a 100% totally/permanently disabled Vietnam Vet; we were issued the card from the veteran’s administration which gives you special privileges and discounts at many stores. We have been having work done in and outside of our home; sometimes we forget to present the card at the time we purchase items. Today I had several receipts where we had forgotten to show the card and get the military discount, I had a long list of items that I needed to purchase their and at Lowe’s.
They refused completely to honor the discount as they had in the past. I spoke to the manager and he explained that they will no longer honor the discount unless you present it at the time of purchase.
Then he had the guts to tell me that the only reason they even do it is because LOWE’S honors the discount. They are not patriotic and do not care about the military, just trying to stay abreast with Lowe’s.
Enough said….I put all items back and went to Lowe’s. We had also purchased items their forgetting to use the card. NO PROBLEM! They gave me my 10% in cash, now that is a true American store.
Please help the veterans send a message to Home Depot that we do not need them. Lowe’s is always near and they do appreciate what our people have gone through.
Thank you, Fran and my husband “Chemo Brain” he has had 2 bouts of Non-Hodgkin’s, so he blames his forgetfulness on the treatments.
God Bless America! Stand up and be counted!!
