My Day by Day Blog

At the encouragement of a fellow inmate, I am going to start a day by day blog of my struggles here at Foothills. I will include commentary on the injustices I have experienced and generally what life is like on the inside. Feel free to ask questions. I might or might not answer you.

This morning was a good morning. Breakfast was ok. The eggs weren't as dry as they normally are. I like 'em a little bit soft. If they would only let us have pepper sauce or somethin like that to spice them up it would be better. RT just adds lots of black pepper.

Friday's are mail days. I been waiting on good news. I hope it comes today. Ever since they let us have internet access, I have become more and more mad. I can't believe what all these people think about me. If they only knew the real story. Momma just tells me to pray and remember that karma will bite them back. But that's not enough. Sometimes I just wanna get in my jeep and run them down. RT helps me calm down.

My time in the library is almost up. So I've got to wrap this up.

Are you ever going to get out of protective custody and get to be in general pop???
I know it's gotta be hard on you when all the other inmates are making fun of you and calling all kind of names but just be thankful that they can't get their hands on you or you know what would happen then.

Do you think that his mother getting on a public forum talking about who's poking who is helping Brock's case??? or is it just showing the people and the court system what you are really all about??? Did Paul Whitfield tell you that if you make a big enough ass out of yourself that he could get Brock a new trial???

It was a good weekend. Not too much excitement on the floor. I've been trying to get into reading novels. RT thinks I should write one. I never liked reading much when I was growing up.

The eggs were dry again this morning. I'm guessing they cooked them extra long, in case of the salmonella that might be in them. We heard that correctional system was buying up recalled eggs real cheap, since they could ensure they were cooked above the 160 degrees required to kill the bacteria. Someone said we're going to get eggs for every meal for the next several weeks.

RT hates eggs. I guess he'll be stuck eating toast.

RT says he hates toast also, but he loves sausage.

Oh and I still haven't received the good news I been waiting on.

@ Jerry - I am already in the general pop. You must not know nothing.

Eggs, eggs, and more eggs. Each meal yesterday, and we're guessing for the foreseeable future.

And they are overcooked. Blecccchhhhhh!

Oh, how I miss my Momma's pancakes and extra crispy bacon.

RT's still gettin his sausage though.

Last night, some new dude, cried for hours. He wouldn't shut up, until his cellie shut him up. RT said I never acted that way. I don't really remember the first few months I was in here. I think that I'll never really get adjusted. You have to get used to never having any privacy.

I sure wished they'd do something different with those eggs. The overcooked scrambled eggs will drive me crazy.

Day 4 of "all eggs all the time".

I finally got the letter I was expecting. Not good news. I was too bummed to post yesterday. RT says it's gonna be alright.

Another thing I miss, is the smell of clean laundry that my Mom would do. I don't know what detergent she used, but it always smelled fresh. Not like the industrial crap they use in here on our prison togs. At one time I was considering going into the military. One dude here, Mitch, was in the Army before. He said it wasn't much different than here, accept you got to move around more. But the chow and the clothes and chit weren't much better.

I'm guessing when I get my new trial and get out of here, I probably won't be wanting to consider the army.

Gotta go.

Great sleep last night, the newbie finally shut-up and quit crying. Friday's around here are usually good days. The regular shift guards are normally in a good mood as they are getting the weekend off. Tonight's movie night. They don't tell us ahead of time. Last week was "Devil Wears Parada" or something like that. The chick in it was hot!...well really they all were. I don't remember too much about the story.

RT's wife is coming to visit tomorrow. He'll be in a good mood all weekend. That's good.

What burns me up are the fools that have been trashing my momma on this Topix thing. I normally work out to vent my frustration. But I haven't been able to, cause all the eggs I've been eating has given me the runs. Hopefully, I'll get back to my workout routine in the next day or so.

Jerry, there are things about my case that the general public do not understand. What happened that night was a tragedy. Should I have been driving? No way. But I wasn't drunk. Something else impaired my ability to drive, and it wasn't because of something that I voluntarily did.

Have I made mistakes for hanging out with the wrong crowd? Sure. But should my life be taken away because of the type of friends I have? Some people think so, and it's convenient to use me as the scapegoat.

But it's my right, to fight for my life and well being. This isn't communist Russia or China. I'm an American, and the constitution says I have the right to due process.
