bill pay with wf is different from wachovia because wf will debit your acct first and send a certified check and guaranty funds as opposed to wachovia that allows you to kite your checks and thats just bad business..consider that wachovia was awesome with customer service and gave away the farm so they went under and was bought out by the big boys like wf. Wells fargo has been around more than 150 years because they are fair and want to make money...people dont like wf. This has nothing to do with the bank. they just dont like change. Just a heads up. when you call wells fargo, dont spell your name...we have it and its pronounced Wachovia(wackovia) not (watch ovia or wackyovia) People sound ridiculous....

All these customers complaining about a FREE service. YOU PAY NOTHING for a service that costs THOUSANDS of dollars per year to run.

And if Wachovia was so great WHY ARE THEY OUT OF BUSINESS? Oh yeah.. that's right, they needed someone to bail them out after being hit with government fines for laundering drug money from the Mexican Cartels.

I had heard they did have one customer in the country that was satisfied so I formed an Idiot Patrol to find them. Glad you are satisfied. If we find more idiots we will let you know so you can throw a Christmas party.

these last few posts (defending WF)are a riot. Mary says that just because WF informs you 90 days in advance that their policy is to debit your checking account 5 days before they pay your bill with it (so that they can use your money for arbitrage purposes on wall street), that this makes the practice ok. That is LOL funny. It's still a despicable practice. They are instituting these kinds of policies to make up for bad management whilst handing out billions in bonuses to the guys that got us in trouble?.....and the account holders are footing the bill!!?! come on, get your heads out of the sand.

If WF is paying "Satisfied Customer" to post these so-called "defenses" of the bank (which I suspect), they're not getting their money's worth.

Common sense. Those that complain about the FREE service are those that fail to manage their budget. Also, why pay through your bank? Pay it directly.

Tom, you got it right buddy. They do sound like "plants" don't they? Hey Mary, Wow!....a FREE service? That's mighty big of them! That's like being surprised when you see a person on welfare with a cellphone! EVERYBODY has a cellphone.........just like EVERY bank offers free billpay. Wake up. Hey, if anyone here knows of a Class Action in N. Carolina, please let me know. I'd like to do my civic duty and get onboard and get my small slice back of that $700B

Bad News wrote: I hear Wells Fargo Online Bill Pay is a nightmare. It is all over the internet from states that have already converted. Too bad because Wachovia's Bill Pay is about as perfect as a system can run. It seems like Wells Fargo would upgrade the technology to what is existing at Wachovia now since they bought them. Not using the best technology available tells me customers used to doing business are going to be very unhappy. I think that the banks started bill pay with being able to pay the bill within 24 hours...this made people use that and not mail...Post Offices are suffering for that today and now it is easier to mail (prioty or overnight with return receipt) and basically cheaper, since you just paid postage and a few dollars more for the extra postage fee in lieu of the bank withdrawing the money from your account 5 days earlier than the bill is paid...Bank is make interest off our money and taking 5 days to pay the bill...so bank is racking up on interest off all bill payers...but, they are not giving the people the interest on the money they earn...go figure..

I send a check on 12/12/11 using bill pay. The money was drafted from the account on the 13th. Guess what? As of today 12/28 the payee has not recieved the check. This is the third time since the switch from Wachovia. I asked to put a stop payment on the check. Oh now I have to wait up to 10 business days to be refunded. So WF got my money for 28 days drawing interest and at the end my bill was not paid. Thereuat be something we can do. This is a big rippoff.

So if WF is the one holding the money for the check to be paid. And the check has not cleared yet. And I put a stop payment, why would it take 10 business days to release the money back to me. This sounds like a big scam and consumers cannot do nothing about. I think every one that had problems with WF need to get together and form CLASS ACTION suit against WF.

WELLS FARGO BILL PAY IS A JOKE!!!!!
I paid my wells fargo credit card bill thru the bill pay system connected with my checking account at WELLS FARGO. I paid it on the due date. WELLS FARGO BILL PAY waited 2 days to credit it to my card and then charged me a $25 late fee. I will not use their system again and am considering switching banks.
WRITE A CHECK AND MAIL IT....ITS MUCH CHEAPER!!!!!!

My account is switching 20th of Feb. I dont see anyone mentioning what banks pay and withdraw on the same day. Yes, it is apparent they will float the money but we have no control over this. I am looking for a bank as a back up. Lets be realistic, many dates fall on a payday and that pay covered the bills, not all the time but it happened. Sometimes I dont have the float for them to float.

Funny how every "supportive" post comes from "Maryville, IL". Hey, shill moron, you know that changing the posting name doesn't change the location, right?

Wachovia and wells fargo were/are a bunch of drug money launderers. Our troops are/have been dying for Heroin in Afghanistan. Before the phony wars the taliban closed down the poppy fields. that PO'd the bankers and there friends in Gov't. So they invented a phony war. That business is much too profitable to lose.

Same here. They have sent my Verizon payments to windstream over and over, and have not sent other payments that Wachovia paid on time for many years. It's been an awful experience. I'm joining 2 credit unions and moving.

If Wachovia had the sense to run their business like Wells Fargo they would not have went bankrupt and USA taxpayers would not have to cover your whiners assests.

I filed a complaint with the SEC and the CFPB regarding WF's practice of removing funds from customers accounts prior to the checks being presented. WF responded that" this is done in order to guarantee the funds are available when the payee cashes the check or applies the electronic payments" That is disingenuous. I content that the practice "earns" WF a staggering amount of money, upwards of 70 million dollars per day calculating interest at 2%, with only 1/2 of their stated customers utilizing bill pay averaging 3000.00 per month. I have disputed WF's reponse and will follow with a letter to my US Senate as well. Doing all with the full knowledge that nothing will change.

I switched to Chase specifically because of Wells horrible bill pay system. I'm not sure how they can justify taking the money out of my account 3 days prior to the bill payment date when it's not a paper check. They must be profiting millions holding the customer's cash before sending it over. Unacceptable!
