Where is my NC income tax refund?

They are using the present economy hype to not do their job and refund that money.

How come they don't even have the courtesy to post a message about this on http://www.dor.state.nc.us/ ? I had to turn to freaking Google to figure out why my tax refund had not arrived, that is how I found this site.
I am going to let them know that I will be charging a 32% default interest rate on the late payment as well as a $130 collection fee.

Well,let's see. I filed on February 23rd. Today is April 2nd. We're talkig like 6 weeks. And when you check their web site,you get the same old bu&* sh$% message, "your refund has been received and is being processed." That is just swell!!
Anybody hear on the news lately that NC is sprnging for 12 millio for some state park??
And you wonder why they had a revolution in France in the 18th century!!

we have a deadline to get our tax returns in, yet they can just dawdle over getting our refunds out. i agree wit the above poster! they should make a public announcement.

I don't understand why Obama can't fix this issue, he apparently can fix everything else. No, wait a minute, the economy is in worse shape now than when Bush was in office. I agree with charging NC late fees and penalties. Also, I think I'll adjust my W4 as to reduce the amount of tax I pay each month and just remind them next year when I UNDER pay!! This is ridiculous!!

we filed our return on Feb 17 and as of April 4 have yet to receive anything. Like you all above the website says the same bs everytime...your refund has been received and is in process....whatever that's supposed to tell you. I'm a student who is relying on this refund to pay bills until I graduate in May. I'll probably have a job before this gets here.....

That's hilarious Madasheck! But the truth is, nothing about the gov't has changed when it comes to if we owe them we have to pay penalties and if they owe us- oh freakin well. Oh, for whom ever is so clever to blame this on Obama, its no wonder why the "state" knows it can do this and get away with it. Obama didn't start this problem but you all want him to fix it in a blink of an eye. Get real and start putting the blame where it should be. While your talking about Obama, Bush is sitting somewhere not worrying about a thing.

Filed Federal and State on Feb 22nd. Receive Federal refund March 4th, but have yet to receive my state one.

Website says check written 30 days ago and has not been cashed. I can request another check but that will take upto 45 days. Nice.

Should I continue waiting (patiently) or complicate the system more by writing a letter asking for another?

we can go back and forth putting the blame on bush and obama but it is not going to change a thing. we look to gov for answers to things they have no control over remember they are human just like you and i. why not turn to a gov that can bring changes Gods kingdom. we see things have gone from bad to worst just as God said it would so why not look to the bible for ans instead of man.

There is really only one solution to our current problems and that is to vote out every liar and thief who occupy the senate and congress at both the state and local levels. These are the so called " smart, intelligent, educated", and they feel they can make the "proper" decisions for the remaining millions of Americans, Oh and dont forget the illegals, they now apparently have rights they were not born with or earned in any possible way.

So.....with that said, how are we the people going to rid ourselves of the pestilence that run our lives and cause misery for the masses?

You could have a massive revolution right, well lets talk about this a moment. We did that, remember 1776 and signed a document riddingus from a far off oppressor. It worked, we fought and became free. Free of what? Freedom is just another word for a group of new oppressors. Granted, we will always require a tax base to assure our countrys security, but the process in which these politicians are wrecking our countrys economic future is completely criminal.

If this were a communist state, each and every one of them would be lined up and shot, and frankly, I would not have a problem with it, I'll even by the bullets. But lets face it they are a protected vestige and any attempt to do what we did in 1776 is going to get you put in jail for the rest of your natural life if not worse.

We need to vote them out of office with the democratic process on all levels. The incumbents need to be conservative and not liberal. Liberals are the breed that are giving our country away to illegals and spending what you and I havent earned yet.

We moved back to Louisiana in July 08' so I had to file two state returns. Louisiana (the state thay cannot get anything right) had my refund to me in one week, my federal refund came in 3 weeks. It has been over a month and still nothing but "your return has been recieved and is being processed". Come on NC give me MY money back.

I too am raging because I filed on February 3rd and got my Federal Tax refund back within 2 weeks but have yet to get anything back from NC. They need to refund us with intrest!!

I filed almost the same time as you and got mine 2 weeks ago....

I'd like to know if "ANYONE" has received their refund from North Carolina? We filed the first part of February and it's now mid-March and we have received nothing. I'm now unemployed due to the economy, but not eligible yet for unemployment. I need to make my car payments so I can continue searching for work. They should at least give you an idea as to when you could expect it. I haven't heard of "ONE" person receiving their NC refund. Has anyone?

I e-filed on JAN 28 - today is MAR 11 and nothing......I am beyond disgusted.
