Ever been on food stamps? Main reason was?

I was on food stamps for the purpose it was made for. I went on disability from a career, note, career, not a job, that I LOVED. I WANTED to work but could not physically handle it anymore.

I also went OFF food stamps when I got back on my feet again. I didn't have baby after baby so that I could get extra money, I didn't sell my EBT card for drugs, I did what I was supposed to do with it....I fed my family.

Now I am able to do without food stamps and see how corrupt the whole deal has become. It was meant to be a short term thing, so you could pull yourself up by your bootstraps and get on with life. It's NOT a lifetime thing, or it wasn't supposed to be.

It makes me so mad to hear of all the abuse, the theft, the drug trading for the EBT cards, etc.

There ARE good people in the world who just need a hand up. I hope in the future that is what the food stamp program becomes again.

I was too fat and lazy to work.
