To Queen_Charlotte... you're correct to acknowledge my departure from WBTV was of my choosing. It was actually a decision made by my wife and I:) The beauty of her career, she can do voiceover anywhere in the country. So I'm doing morning weather for CBS in Tampa / St. Petersburg and she's voice acting.

Starting with the train of co-anchors next to John Carter... he is absolutely not the reason they have left the station.
Cecile Chioco decided to leave TV entirely to raise her son and dedicate time to a nonprofit organization (working with Delano Little I believe). Shannon Bream also left on her own terms but that was because of a big job in D.C. She's now with Fox news. Jan Jeffcoat also left on her own terms for a big job in Houston. Lenise Ligon's contract expired and the station decided to move forward. While Jan and Shannon had big send offs, Lenise's was quiet as they did not want to focus attention to her departure... Lenise is not unique to this industry as each and everyone one of us that choose TV as a career are vulernable to a contract not being renewed or even in extreme cases, being released before the contract is up. Barbara was then upgraded to her slot immediately. Again, over a course of time a decision was made to not extend a contract. Reasoning could vary from ratings, focus groups to just simple job performance. Once again, no big send off for her. At this stage of the game, John looks like a hollywood anchorman making demands to get rid of certain people and that simply is not the case. I assure you, not a single anchor in that station has the power to force the TV station to make a decision on someone's employment.
All this said, all of you will soon meet John's new co-anchor from Texas. She is also an african-american female anchor and by all accounts, a rising star. I've heard very good things about her and I know John Carter is extremely excited to get her to Charlotte and on-air. After more than 8 years in that market, I will say WBTV does care about diversity and gender equality. I loved that station and TV market. Believe me, concerns over racism from John to WBTV have zero merit.
