Numerous insurgent groups remain active throughout Iraq. Iraqi Security Forces (ISF)-led military operations continue, and attacks persist against the ISF and U.S. forces in many areas of the country.

One of the key facts not mentioned is this article nor on the television news reports that I have seen is why. Why did these men go to Iraq, then go to the border with Iran for a hike. Had everything gone smoothly and they returned home safely, it would still show an incredible lack of good judgement to make a trip such as this.
