Full story: The Globe and Mail

“Several parties have recently expressed strong interest regarding a franchise for Ottawa, and we have decided to concentrate our efforts on these new opportunities”

A new professional football league is needed in Canada because it is clear that CFL does not work in Ottawa. A new eight team league, with a team in Ottawa, is needed in Canada. In the East, we have teams in Ottawa, Montreal, Hamilton and Winnipeg. In the West, we have teams in Regina, Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver.

A new professional football league is needed in Canada because the CFL Board of Governors have no clue of how to run a professional sports league.

There is 8 teams already, you forgot to mention Toronto, Canada's largest city. Ottawa needs a willing owner, and until that happens they can't just be given a team. The fans are tired of bad owners who don't or can't spend money to build a half-decent team.

I said a new professional football league in Canada, not the Canadian Football League. Toronto does not deserve a National Football League team. Toronto probably does not deserve a Canadian Football League team. Maybe the owners of the Canadian Football League team in Toronto should move to Ottawa and see what will happen to them.

There is no team in Ottawa because there is no owner for a team in Ottawa and it's barely adequate stadium.

If they really wanted a team there, there could be a community owned one, but apparently nobody can organize that.

Saying "A new professional football league is needed in Canada because it is clear that CFL does not work in Ottawa" is a ridiculous statement. Attendance and interest in the CFL has never been better and optimism (your continual carping and negativity aside) is very high.

Daily Horoscope for June 1

Pisces

It's too easy to get caught up in nit-picking and hair-splitting today, Pisces, especially if you disagree with someone. Why waste time correcting each other and disputing the facts, when none of this will get you very far. You're easily swayed by other people's opinions right now, making it difficult to make up your mind about anything.
