Charlie...Once and for all PLEASE stop writing about Buzz Hanahan or whatever the name is of the former CDH star that is not worthy of a major league roster spot. OF COURSE Seattle would love to include him in the deal. HE CAN'T PLAY!!! So PLEASE stop writing about any other nobody's who once played for CDH. I'm a good Catholic boy, and you're embarrassing me every time you do.

Getting Cliff Lee for half a season by giving up a bunch of prospects as well as a starting pitcher in the hope of winning the World Series this year is a bad idea. There are just too many gaping holes on this years Twins, particularly the whole bull pen and clutch hitting by the regulars. Even if we get Lee, we can depend on our greatly over-rated relievers to keep blowing the money games against the good teams. As for hitting, we do our best hitting when we are hopelessly behind or against bad pitchers on bad teams which inflates batting averages and rbi totals. There is simply no point in trading away the future in the forlorn hope of winning it all this year.

I would have to agree with Walgag Tokyo. If the Twins get Lee, it should be for an extended contract.

The Twins should cull some of the cinders out of the farm system, not the gems.Lee will only get a sore arm and disappear with their money and future! If they swoon at the end this year it won't be because of Lee ,one way or the other. They picked up some south of the border nuggets over the past two or three years who are just now getting ready to star. Now is not the time to sell the store for a qaudy sign to stick on the mound once a week!

What are you guys talking about! This IS the only way to beat the Yankees!!!!!!!!!! That is how you get 20 something championships. You either buy a player or groom them for other teams that win them. This is not 87 or 91 which was almost 20 years ago! 3 wins in almost 30 tries against New York! Plus we are playing less than 500 ball against WINNING teams. Getting to the playoffs is not enough anymore. Get it done!!!!!!!!!

Long term contract looking at $20million a year---out of the Twins league. As proven last night "Gardy the Goof" can't manage a decent game with the pitchers they have and if I was Cliff Lee why would I want to come and play for a manager who takes the ball out of my hands with a 3 run lead and my pitching is HOT because of some dumb ass idea the "Goof" has about the 100 pitch count. Let Lee go to a team where he has a chance to win another WS and that's not here..........

Hannahan had a bad groin injury and missed almost all of spring training. He started off slow this year and had to prepare at the AAA level. Ballplayers will tell you that Spring training is a huge part of finding their stroke, timing, and routine. So wash out the first month of this year, and look at his last 25 games..300 BA,.350 OBP,.450 SLG. Good numbers. Remember that stud 3B Eric Chavez of the A's? Well, he is second on the A's all-time list for consecutive games with out an error at 3B, to Jack Hannahan. Hannahan is everything and more than the other utilitymen on the Twins.(And I LOVE Punto) And the price tag and hometown flavor are on the money.

There is simply no point in trading away the future in the forlorn hope of winning it all this year. The good thing about Cliff Lee is he throws quite a few complete games, so the bullpen blowing games would not be as big of a factor when talking about him. That said, Gardy would be his "new" Manager, and that would mean an end to the complete games if he hits the dreaded 100 pitch count. God I hate pitch counts! Throw the damn ball, you'll survive, thousands upon thousands have pitched Major League Baseball without a pitch count, and last I checked all but a few did just fine (same as today's pansie players - some get injured pitching with pitch counts, some don't). And lastly, pitching Cliff Lee in October, MAYBE Gardy lets him go with little time left on the schedule.

Why is it such a given that Cliff Lee would be a rental? Is there no chance we might keep him after this season?

First, why hasn't the Mbakwe kid had a trial in what I believe is over a year? Is this the way justice is dispensed in this country?
Second, why do we ever have to hear another word about Royce White?

Henderson was a fool to believe in the empty promises of Lame Kiffin. I do hope that the Twins can get Lee or Oswalt, but that they can sign them at least to a contract that extends beyond the rental situation.

I cna barely type! Laughing to hard at the thought of Les Steckle being a contribution to a book on the great John Wooden. Can't imagine what Les has to contribute. Maybe, "How not to be an influential coach?

Twins need to retire the 100 pitch count.. Sick of hearing about it.. what an excuse! Anderson's boys are so frail , they cant finish a game... the old timers laugh at these young pitchers these days.. if you're not strong enough to finish a game you started.. shouldnt you be in the bull pen?? and the "confidence thing" I'm sick of hearing about that too... what a bunch of babies ..wheres the mental toughness?? geezzz..
