"NFL scouts had to like Gophers QB Adam Weber's arm strength against Purdue" That's interesting. I thought the idea was to throw balls that someone else could catch, not just throw them a long way.

Weber's arm strength might be impressive but his accuracy and decision-making leaves much to be desired. He should be splitting time with whoever is going to be the starting QB next year (Gray, Alipate, Parish, etc.)

There is no way the Gophers will be able to tear away the TCU head coach, we had a chance, and went with the wrong choice. Tough position to be in.

Mike Leach is the man the Gophers should hire.

"Northwestern's Pat Fitzgerald, 35, probably does more with the talent he has than any college coach in America. But he's a Northwestern grad and may be reluctant to leave." - And, you know, has a better job in the same conference. Totally would be willing to take a demotion, though!

Why in the world would Gary Patterson even think about leaving TCU for the open Minnesota position. In the BCS picture consistently, something U of M is not. Would be a major step down.

Who wrote this? Sid? I can throw out another 10-12 names that are million to one shots to coach at the U. Stoops, Bellotti, Patterson? Come on!
Don't ever mention Weber and the NFL in the same sentence.
Don't ever mention Canadians and basketball in the same sentence.

Hire Sara Palin......at least she will bring in the non-football crowds! And crowds from Alaska and from conservative south! The stadium would be packed each game day even if we go 0 for 50!

Give me one reason as to why the Wolves would trade for Carmelo. There is absolutely no chance he would re-sign with the Wolves. Shooter is being delusional.

How about Leslie Fraizer as the head coach of University of Minnesota football team? I think an improved "D" would be a compliment the "O." Up the WIN column!

I'm going to win the Nobel Prize for Literature someday also.

It;s about time the gophers fire their coach. I had to turn the game off against Wisconsin and the Illionis game!

There is no reason whatsoever why the Wolves would be interested in Melo now that they have Beasley, a player whose game is very close to Anthony's. This rumor played itself out a month ago, but TC sportswriters have gotten used to ignoring the Wolves and aren't exactly up to date on what's up. What's up is that the Wolves are 4-1 in preseason, and look to be a much improved team this year WITHOUT any imported, high price tag superstars.

Charley, You failed to mention Ty Willingham or Charles Strong, currently of Louisville who 'begged' for the job when Brewster was hired . Both I believe are proven winners, great men and run clean programs. Your thoughts are welcomed!

Bellotti should at least be reached out to. He is a West Coast guy and may want to chillax at ESPN. The U has to roll the dice with someone who will run the spread. If they have the QB to throw you throw it. If they have QB that can run then run the zone read like NE and MI. No disrespect to Buds'son but in no way can you make that hire,
1-Mike Leach 2-Mike Bellotti 3-Dennis Green 4-Mike Tice 5-Mark Trestman

The rest of your analysis was good. Was Denny a typo?

Denny is a head good coach and can recruit. He was great at Stanford and he was alright with the Vikes. He is better a candidate than Tyrone Willingam as Walters suggested. It would never happen but I threw a dart at the board. I know a guy who met Tice once and said the guy has a presence about him and I think a head coach has to have that. NO BS but a real leader. I'm just saying.
