I'm so happy Tim Brewster like Glen Mason will be laughing all the way to the bank and pointing the finger at Maturi.

Tim Brewster for making Maturi drink the rose bowl kool-aid he made and Glen Mason for being fired because the students and fans did not like going to mediocre bowl games....look at him now!

Something tells me the trend downward is continuing even with a new hire from Maturi......because that is who he is......a bad evaluator of coaching talents.

Whom ever the Gophers hire to coach the football team, it better be th right choice this time. Fans are getting sick of this losing crap. Either they become competitive in the Big Ten or they should drop out of the Big Ten.

So whom ever they hire better be a real coach this time. The Gophers haven't had a real football coach since Lou Holts.

Hey guys, Minnesota transplant here, been here 10 years. Shannon lost control of his teams and never had any disipline, or respect of the players and they ran all over him. Do you really want another coach like that there?

Sounds like Maturi is at it again. If Shannon can't get a winning record at Miami, with their recruiting draw, he sure won't do it in Minnesota. If they are even considering hiring Shannon, why did they fire Brewster? Mike Leach is the answer. Just do it.

You cannot be serious. The guy couldn't win with the best athletes in the country at Miami.

PS everyone is getting worked up over nothing right now, let's see who gets the job first. Before this is over these reporters (and I use the word reporters loosely ) will have Bill Parcells interested in the job. remember they are trying to fill some space here, it's winter, Twins are off, Vikings won, so they can't rip Faver until next week.

Charlie aka Mr Obvious. There is not a decently informed fan that could not write or report better than this.....in their bathrobe.....using Google for research.

I'll keep shouting this from the highest building. Our AD needs to closely examine how Wisconsin, Iowa and other successful Big Ten schools hire their coaches. They need to find an assistant coach from successful Big Ten schools such as Ohio State, Penn State and Michigan State as examples who knows and has recruited in those key Big Ten markets. Hiring some so-called big name coach who is not familiar with the Big Ten is going to be like spinning your wheels on glazed ice. Michigan, once a Big Ten powerhouse is now just another Big Ten football program with their hot shot coach they hired away from one of those Virginia schools.
The last thing Minnesota needs is a coach with a trunk-full of baggage.

From what I hear, Randy Shannon had control of the Miami football thugs. He made sure they went to class, kept them out of trouble off the field, and seems like a decent person. Personally, I would like to see Miami lose every game, but Shannon seems like a class act.

Randy Shannon? If you can't win at Miami, you sure as hell can't win at Minnesota! This makes no sense at all and is just another reason that Maturi should have been fired at the same time as Brewster.

Daily Horoscope for June 1

Leo

Try not to over-commit yourself at this time. If you can establish a few limits you will be really pleased with the end results. You're flying high -- which is great, but try not to get ahead of yourself and lose the advantage of the good opportunities surrounding you. Why not relax at home tonight? Have a few friends over for some pleasant banter.
