Sorry to say, Horton, but unless you have a miracle of mammouth proportion (parting of the Red Sea-type) the trophy case will stay that way for the forseeable future. ;-(

Not sure why the Vikes would want to draft a QB this coming season considering all of the QBs they passed on last year. Can you say Colt McCoy anyone?

Shooter writes above: "The Favre-Brad Childress relationship was a time bomb just waiting to explode." Really?? Hey, Shoots, did you ever write those words BEFORE Chili was fired? And you can forget about Gruden. First of all, he's overrated as a coach. He basically won the Super Bowl with Dungy's team and then went downhill from there. Secondly, he found his niche in TV. He absolutely loves it there and I firmly believe he's going to stay in the booth.

Mr white wrote: Ya why not young, white, white and we want white just a little smarter than the ceo coach of the past Gruden might be the "white" decision but he wouldn't be the right fit for this team. Let's see how Leslie Frazier does and then consider giving him a contract for next season, assuming there is a season next year with all the lock-out rumors.

I think the same thing...yes, he did win a Super Bowl but again, correct, he did it with a team Dungy built. Gruden would be OK as a coach but he is NO Klink.....JK

Nobody takes me seriously because I am a woman commenting on football, but I come from a football family with a father and brothers that played, coached and officiated up to the college level so I grew up in a football household. Here it is, Frazier was turned down after 7 interviews for head jobs, thats right folks "7" turndowns. Now may I ask, why was that? Its because he is not a good finishing coach. He gets close by being ultra conservative with a no pressure defense, but never finishes. Another good example was against the Pack when he stopped AR cold for one quarter by using blitz packages then backed off going right back to his conservative four man rush and soft secondary which produced nothing. His rotation which put two of his best defensive linemen on the bench while AR sat back and threw the first bomb was ridiculous after he set them up with short stuff underneath and when they came up to cover it he went over the top. Talk about being sucked in, ouch! In my opinion the Vikes are one of the worse all around coached defenses in the NFL and you want to make Frazier the head coach so we as fans can have more of the same. I hope I am wrong but can't see where this is a change, unless Chilli wouldn't let him blitz, which I doubt.

That's right, let's not give Frazier a chance or a vote of confidence and support let's start undermining is authority immediately. What a bunch of dim witted sports writers and commentators they all think they know what's going on and what has to be done when in reality they don't have a clue they just keep throwing s--t at the wall and hoping something sticks, if they knew what they were doing Brewster would have never been part of the sports picture here in Minnesota. So just back off, give Frazier a chance without you knuckle draggers trying to break his spirit.

I think we need to see how things turn out before we exalt or diss Frazier. Everything else is pure speculation.

This writer should do his homework before writing this garbage, if you know anything about Jon Gruden you would know he hates the cold and said in the past many times he would not consider MN EVER! He's happy at ESPN, his ego might need a boost by coaching again, but it would be in a warm place with an elite stadium..Dallas. Dungy cannot make it any more clear..he is not interested..period! Its a waste to keep printing your idiotic guesses!

I thought the same as you, why, with a struggling defense, why let the DC run the whole team when he can't even figure out how to fix the defense. As for Frazier being passed over for interviews, in his defense I suspect some of his interviews were only "token" if you catch my drift. With the NFL's plan and search for diversity I am thinking that many teams, Seattle comes to mind, only interviewed him to apease the league's requiremnts that make it mandatory each team interview or give consideration to a minority candidate and I suspect Frazier was a victim of that policy, not because he was actually being considered for the job.

Jackie. Had you not said this part I may have agreed with you. You stated that you're a woman who knows football. While that should be every guys dream, us guys are threatened by that. Having a woman know more than us about something we do with the guys is unacceptable. We can't have that. Instead, we'll continue to not listen to women like you so we don't feel inferior. Lalalala we're not listening! As I hope you can tell, this post is entirely in good fun. Well said, Jackie.

If the players thought chilli was confrontational they sure aren't going to play for Gruden. Billicek is the best fit.

Dungy is no going to give up his cushy tv job so take that out of the mix right now. The Vikings need to solve the QB issue via the draft. A trade may land a good #2 guy or a temporary #1 while the rookie QB that was drafted learns the NFL game but that is the priority.

What has Gruden done but win once with Dungy's team and then let that team fall apart? Not a good choice at all.

Actually Gruden is the ONLY option. In listening to multiple Vikings podcasts over the past few months (and before) Gruden would be the only one that would consider it other than maybe Parcells. Dungy has said he will not go for the job, same for Billick. Cowher has said numerous times that he wants a good quarterback as the foundation so he's ruled out. The only one left is Gruden and an aging Parcells. It will most likely be Frazier.
