This is not the great job creator that a casual observer might think. This shop is not what we think of as a TV manufacturer. What it amounts to is an assembly line where all the components come from China and a modicum of cheap local labor boxes the things up so they can be labeled "Made in USA." The whole object of this is to avoid contemplated 50% import tariffs on Chinese TVs. It might not even happen if those tariffs don't materialize. So it's not a big game changer. It's a trick play.

More empty buildings for China in years to come....Every Asian country now wants to stay away from China....2012 will be a worse year for China.

Your right this old standby has been practiced for years, all it takes is minimum wage workers to "re-pack" and its made in usa, wait until you see the new games the exporters play under some of the new rules, some of my associates tell me they are replicatingy expensive tech made in china right next door in mexico,I guess what goes around.......

China will become the world's largest importer in 2014. Mexico is just too far.

Let's not be so pessamestic (SP). Good heavens, we need to do something! GM is expandng in Lansing when we thought all was lost. There are four supporting plants within a couple of miles of the assembly plant in Delta Township. They are all going gangbusters. No, the wages aren't what they used to be, but they are "jobs" an believe it or not those people are happy to have them! Give the people in Canton a chance. Hopefully they will soon be making the components here in the Let us all pray for this opportunity for the community.

So if that relocation happens, the company should not put the label Made in USA. The U.S. also put a tax levy on imported substandard solar panels made in China I think early this year. Their response is to put a solar panel manufacturing facility here in the U.S. at the expense of American workers who works in already established companies.

I mean only to China. Let Chinese consumers get these substandard products. they made 99 percent of the contents anyways. These TV's should not be exported to other countries except China, for other countries are looking at U.S. made products as superior quality that's why any exported U.S. products are in demand. It should be labeled, Made with 99 percent Chinese parts.
