AT&T's U-verse stages duel with Bright House cable

You are not afraid of Uverse? Oh, please be notified the moment this is available in the Belle Isle area of south Orlando, I will be dumping you and your leading??? services. Ms. Bracy, how can you say you've been competing for years. That's a lie, you've had a monopoly for years in Orlando. THANK YOU AT&T FOR PUSHING BRIGHT HOUSE OUT! It couldn't happen to a more smug, consumer unfriendly company in the NATION!

I will be switching for the NFL Network and for Fox Sports Florida. I'm guessing AT&T has the entire Fox Sports Network that Bright House so desparately needs.

Lesser of two evils here... AT&T has a NOTORIOUSLY poor customer service record.
But perhaps their presence in the market will finally force Bright House to get the NFL Network and Fox Sports Florida.
Bright House takes their customers for granted here in Central Florida... they think we are idiots and don't know that they provide Fox Sports Florida on a BASIC CABLE tier in Tampa - yet refuse to do the same for customers here.
They also need to work on that crappy DVR software, get some more HD Channels (Including Golf Channel HD), and stop running those stupid asterisk ads.

They will offer a lower price but wait one year and watch your rates go through the roof. you fall victim to att dont say you were not warned. att su cks

u-verse's customer support is much better than DSL, U-verse all the support techs are U.S. based and typically the techs will come on same day as your call.

It will be nice to have ATT back in cable in the Florida area. I had them back before comcast took over in Jacksonville and loved the service. And had the old bellsouth wireless cable in the late 90's.

Finally, some competition for Darkhouse. Couldn't have come at a better time. Maybe now the execs at BH will get off their butts and get the FSN and NFL Network deals done.

Also, where are those 50 new HD channels that BH promised us by the end of the year. So far, I think they've only added about 6-8 new HD channels since the beginning of the year.

I'll be checking out U-Verse without a doubt.

Do some research online about U-verse and you'll see people have just as many issues with their service. I'm not saying Dim House is a lot better, but just be aware that it is a lateral move, at best.

The best part of all this is the competition. I doubt we'd have all the extra HD channels (including USA and Sci-Fi this month) if Dim House's hand wasn't forced a little.

Still, if it came to Kissimmee, I'd probably change just for the NFL Network and FSN. Get with it Dims!

Brighthouse provides terrible serivce. It sounds like now we have an option through AT&T. Thank goodness!

The reason that their is no price difference in the other areas where both companies are is called "price fixing" and it's been done for years.
It is good that there is competition but I don't see either company actually making their costs competitive. They know that 90% of consumers are a captured audience and will pay through the nose for whatever entertainment venue that is put out.

You think Bright House is bad? You haven't experienced Comcast yet........

Monthly 12 hour outages are only the beginning with those guys.

I'm wondering why anyone is still even sticking with Brighthouse when DirectTV has FREE HD DVR's AND FSN Florida???!!??

They are both monoply's and will fix the prices so the consumers don't get a break or savings. Other parts of the world get better, cheaper and faster internet then what they rip us off for here in the US. Untill the local governments start doing their job and get out of bed with these big money grubbing company's we citizens will continue to get ripped off!

The new GUI on BH is awful!! If my favorite channels are on the new system and they offer those DVR features along with NFL, me and my $180 a month are switching!!
