I quit cable vision. I have Netflix and watch a lot of movies instantly at my own time.

Um, whatever happened to that old standby, the VCR??
$25 and you can record all you want, with no charge for extra recording (just $5 for a new tape when you want it) and you can FAST FORWARD over all of the commercials if you want.
Geez - I get how a DVR is nice, but if you don't want to give Dolan an extra $15 a month, just remember "YAHOO" (You Always Have Other Options).

Sounds like a real good deal to me. I'm just a country boy from New Jersey.

Cant buy a set-top box wrote: I'm still waiting to buy my own set-top box with built in dvr. For now I have to rent one from my cable company for $15/month. This news does not bode well for me or my fellow consumers. In the late 90's congress passed a law to allow us all to buy set-top boxes so we don't have to endlessly rent them from the cable companies, which is why we see those silly cards sticking out the front of the boxes. We are supposed to be able to take that card and stick it in our own box that we purchased and use our own dvr with the guide data from our cable company. Unfortunately whenever I contact the set-top box makers to purchase one they say it is not possible unless I am a cable company. Where is my box? Stick yourself in a box and stay in your basement, you lowlife. Get a life. Drink a Miller High Life.
