need to see if any of those prisons accept donations of helping teach a trade, games, books, classes, Sunday services? Not the answer for everything in there but it takes all of us to help others feel needed or wanted. Not just the anger they see everyday. Whether you believe it or not, not all of those men want to be there but STUPID choices put them there, so mentor them to be different, or so we hope, when they get out. Who is accountable back to the prison and what they offer in the way of help. One woman did a wonderful job in the late 20s gearing it that direction. Every life, if possible to change anger, has a purpose. All we can do is try....

This is the reason that prisons need to be reformed in America. Personally, I believe prison should be more about rehabilitation and care rather than punishment centers. Many people are in those prisons due to society's neglect of innercity needs within the community. Prisoners need training and rehabilitation, not punishment for trumped up charges!

My son is also in prison in OK. He is a 24 year old bipolar paranoid schizophrenic and was with some people who decided to rob a store. So even though he did not have a weapon, has no prior felony convictions and voluntarily turned himself in when he found out the police wanted to speak with him, he got 10 years split and gets to fear for his life in Granite for 5 years. I share you fear that I may lose him in prison.

I pray for all the mothers of these young men, I have a 22 year old son in Granite, he spent a year in the county jail and now he is in there on lock down, my fear is that this young man with alot of young men whose make bad choices will end up coming out of these places so secluded that they will not know how to be proactive when they get out, believe me I know that some of these men need to be locked up but they are throwing our young men in prisons when the child molesters and hit and run driver's run free. Just remember to remind your sons that you are there for them and most of all God is in controll.

I agree, we spend FAR too much money on prisoners and far too
LITTLE on our military men and women.
These clowns do NOT deserve gyms or even free medical care.
Make them work for what they need.
We need to bring back the "chain-gangs." After all, they are criminals,
and NOT heroes.
Peace be with you

Some of these people don't deserve what they get. Until you find out differently. Some are in there because of bad police work. Some are in there for crimes they did not do. You can't believe this and I wouldn't and didn't because I came from the family that did no crimes. There is so many dirty cops and the average joy doesn't have a chance unless they are rich. You won't believe me but someday it will happen to your family and you will wish you didn't say such cruel things.

I come from a military family. My dad, uncle, brother all serve our country 20 + years. Their son and grandson would of serve our country too but when a sheriff was running for office they put several false charges. He just wanted to look good and didn't care that he destroyed a family. Yes you can get a free lawyer but that lawyer does not have to talk to you. It's hard to believe this happens but it does. Then when you see a police officer is charge with stealing drugs and money they get 5 yrs probation. While mine received 15 yrs for dealing drugs.

A model prisioner. He does deserve time. But it should be fair across the board. He should be walking free. The cop is. He had more drugs than my nephew. He went to prison for 15 grams of meth and a 100 dollars to his name.

I know you won't believe me. But it is happening. No ones cares because it's not them. But it will happen someday to someone you love. I just hope you don't ever have to live with the pain that we are. They would work but you can't in some places. He had never been in trouble with the law but you can go away a long time. This does happen in our country. While the killer, child rapist get several chances the person with a drug habit gets hard time.

The loss of life if they would of allowed them to kill each other would be trajic! In fact it would have been more so because you were not one of the inmates getting killed. You and the moron that thinks he is 1 of the few in life that never broke the law are in fact both ignorant, and he is a liar as well. Period!

I also have two little boys that look forward to their daddy to come home .They are not anamials although some deserve to be there locking them up and not getting them any help as to teach them wrong from right or a trate or anything for that matter maybe even an opprotunitiy that maybe on the streets they didnt have to to circumstances they was given handed in life .. by family or whatever .. They desever a chance as well. AND TO SOME PEOPLE SUCH AS THEIR KIDS AND FAMILY them trying to better their life maybe just maybe that does make them heros in our lives ..... and maybe we should stop fighting wars that arent our biussnes to fight .... i have all the respect in the world for the women and men that fight for our freedom even if the war is not our problem ... How ever dont take it out on the imates becuse our govanars , our presedents , senate whom ever you want to blame has messed up ... think about it nine out of the ten imates didnt vote for the ppl so we have no one to blame but our selves ...

My son, 22, is in granite. Has as well as others in there are serving un-warranted amounts of times for bad choices. Yes I do believe he needed to serve some sort of sentence but to house him and others like him, with inmates with intentional crimes is in my mind unthinkable. Our family is not well-off by any means. Therefore his attorney was court appointed and told me personally that he was there to represent my son, not defend him. The district attorney railroaded my son. Not knowing I was outside his office after the trial he went on to tell others that his morals were of no concern, the conviction was all that matters. My point is that sons like mine are housing up with men that cut other mens or womens throats. Housed with men that shot others in cold blood. Even after 2 1/2 years I still dread a phone call telling me he is gone. Not that they would contact me right away!!
Visiting him I have witnessed inmates receiving drugs and changing shoes with visitors( contraband). Maybe those have not learned their lessons yet but even petty repeat offenders should not be housed with the before mentioned either.
I think the facility in under staffed but putting that aside the way it is set up to house everyone together is very stressful on family members. Like other families have thought, why not house like offenders together. Let the violent take out their aggressions on each other, not that I wish harm to anyone, and not my son. I wish the best of luck to the inmates families from granite

Daily Horoscope for June 1

Virgo

It's no good arguing with a certain person today because they'll always have a smart answer ready for you and you'll simply end up going round in circles. You could also get rather ratty in the process, which will destroy any chance of raising objective arguments or proving that they're a boring pedant who's only happy when they're scoring points off you. They might say the same about you!
