I think if a parent is going to provide the child with a cell phone, it should be the type that only allows the child to call certain preprogrammed numbers. This phone does not have a camera, therefore there is no worries about pictures surfacing. Parents give cell phones to their children as young as 6 & 7 years old, which is ridiculous. If you want to provide your child with the means to contact you, do everyone a favor and restrict their capabilities. Children having cell phones and being given carte blanch access are the result of Parents wanting the easy way out.

It truly all boils down to the parents-they can't have them, if someone does not buy them or pay the bill. I used to shake my daughter down and have her leave it by the door of the morning-one day I didn't and she texted me during a bomb threat. That changed my mind-I was able to talk her calm, tell her to make sure to do this and that, and communicate. The bomb threat was a hoax-but had it not been, I might have saved her life. she is a kid-panicking was normal. When we are eating, together talking..etc., she does not text ot talk-that is rude, no different than interrupting someone. Common manners can be taught..phone do not cause our kids to be lazy and fail, lack of parenting does that. Though I intend on my children going thru high school and on to college-if something happened and they had to take the GED and change paths, so be it...Miss Difficult no doubt learned hard work and ambition from her parents. People are not born unmotivated and slackers-they learn from their environment.Too many parents let the cellphone baby sit their kids and then complain about it. I cannot believe a parent has no control over a cellphone or what is on it? I mean, if I am paying for it, I will be checking it-and if you have things on it inappropriate, "See ya"..earn it back. The whole idea it is a problem is ridiculous-I would never be mad if my child's phone was taken by a teacher because she was texting or talking in class.

Well, if it comes over the ham radio, it must be true.

By the way, isn't it odd that the same parent that lashes out at a child for viewing a nude human body is perfectly content with that same child watching a TV show where a criminal shoots and kills 15 people an episode?

Why are parents more concerned about children seeing a woman's body than with them watching a gruesome murder on television?

What a sad state of affairs. I LOVE titties. Have for decades.
