DirecTV toying with commercial-skipping DVR

I don’t understand why CBS, FOX, & NBC execs don’t want us to enjoy commercial-free TV. I’m a DISH employee – AutoHop is great because you can easily watch commercial-free TV. Public Knowledge, a consumer advocacy group, is taking a stand for consumers by creating a petition that tells CBS, FOX, & NBC media to keep their hands out of your living room & DVR. I’m just like everyone else who doesn’t like to watch commercials and I don’t understand why a company like DirecTV would sit on technology that consumers would obviously use. With the success of Auto Hop from Dish I’m surprised they haven’t done anything sooner. When a co-worker of mine at Dish told me about the Auto Hop feature a few weeks ago, that made my day perfect. The Hopper DVR from Dish really is something that no other cable or satellite company has anything to compare it with, I’m both happy and proud to have one and use one!

Because if Directv don't use the commercial skipping software, marketers would rather put their commercials on the channels that are supported by Directv. Its just another example of directv supporting big business over their customers. If I was a directv official of some type, I would try to get them to offer a add on that auto skips all commercials or takes them out. How does this sound?

I would buy it. If I hadn't already got fed up with Directv's endless fiasco of raising prices and slashing channels by shutting it off.
