Grand Prix 'delighted' with attendance numbers

Full story: Long Beach Press-Telegram

With last year's Indy Racing League event coming to the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach for the first time since the union of Champ Car and IRL, organizers hoped they could sustain attendance levels without 2009's merger hype behind them.

I saw a lot of empty bleachers, but thats just because they put up 50 times the bleacher capacity just to say "come on down". Besides, if you have a full house sitting on all those pretty bleachers -- YOU CAN'T SEE EM....

Cant wait for the same PT coverage for Gay Pride !!!! Will there be pictures of how much Aqua charged for parking? How about advanced stories on the churches that charge the guys and lesbians to park in their lots and the wonderful things they do with the money raised. Not to mention all the pictures that should be uploaded within minutes after being taken.
And what about the parties? The who's who of the local gay and lesbians will be partying it up on the morning of the Pride Parade. Can't wait to see the reporting.
BTW, breeders, book your hotel rooms in San Diego now, Gay Pride in Long Beach is May 15 & 16. Please don't pretend like you are surprised next month with Ocean Blvd. is closed. You have been warned. Deal with it!

Im confused...what does this story have to do with reporting on gay pride? And frankly, as a gay man myself, whats so newsworthy about gay pride? A bunch of people who take an entire weekend to show just how different we appear rather than use it to bring people together?

I think the coverage of the Grand Prix was great. It is a true international event that the city should be proud of. Its a much bigger scale than gay pride.

Great article. Please be advised of the spelling mistake. In the next to last paragraph is reads deserts when it should read desserts.

Perhaps we should have the gay parade and the grand prix race on the same day.

That way, all the freaks fruits drunks and rednecks will be inside a fenced-off area, and easier to arrest.

And underemployed, unimaginative, self-loathing losers like you could sit in your pathetic apartments with your birds and cats and wish something, somehow and someday could brighten your otherwise dark, lonely, shallow and depressing lives.

Daily Horoscope for June 1

Scorpio

Watch out when dealing with other people early on, because it will be awfully easy to get bogged down in petty details. What's more, as the Moon moves into Scorpio later in the day, it's very subjective so you may find it quite hard to separate your emotions from your thoughts. This isn't a good day to discuss anything important, unless you want to go round in circles.
