Looks like it's time to deal with champ...I remember in the 70s when over 100 entries were the norm every year.

HOW PATHETIC.
They have resorted to ignoring the entry deadline and have to spell out to those in the " indycar community" how cheap it allegedly is.
Now they are begging for ChampCar teams to save them once again. Perhaps ChampCar will ignore them this time like arrogant George ignores Kalkhoven's phone calls.
What a complete bunch of wankers in the IRL.
NO INTEREST in the Indy 500. You can thank Tony George.

Darn shame what Tony George has reduced the Indy 500 to. I remember when qualifying was just as exciting as the race. Now all you have to do is show up and you are in. Maybe this year they will get 33 cars, but then who really cares. Anyone who has a real interest in racing will be preparing for the NASCAR event. IRL has become a minor league for NASCAR, all thanks to Tony's great decision making.

Gosh I wish the Tony George-haters would just shut up. Do you people WATCH any of the IndyCar races? Waaaaay more exciting than TAXICAR. The George family has never asked for one penny from the Indiana taxpayers, and by putting up their own money, they bring in countless millions to the economy three times a year.
And for "the NASCAR event", the Brickyard race is about as exciting as watching the grass grow.
And, BTW, in addition to the F1 race and the 500, I do go to the Busch and Truck race at IRP every year on Brickyard weekend, so I do support all forms of racing, unlike some of you whiners who just b***h about the Evil Tony George.

Nascar @ Indy is a sleeper. What is wrong with Will Power? Brickyard is a bore; Indy 500 rules.

i bet the brochure is only available in english. remember,'we want more americans in the race"? they need to go a lot further than this to bring the legitimacy back to this event. otherwise, just have a spring nascar race.

Kalkhoven wants too big of a piece. His operation and George's aren't equal, and he knows it. His arrogance is the problem. You say no interest in the 500??? It's the biggest, most popular, best attended race in the WORLD !!!!!

35 cars? How depressing. The race used to be fun for the entire month. Now the weekend of the race is all that is left. Please end the divorce.

IRL... nothing but a bunch of foreign drivers who take our dollars out of America. I'd rather work on my Hot Rod then waste the electricity on watching this crap on T.V. or worse yet pay those rediculas prices to attend one. But I can remember when the Indanapolis 500 was Special. I'll bet Tony Hulman turns in his grave over the way his beloved Indy 500 has become.

Nascar.... Same one's win every week BORINNNNNNNNNNG!!! no competition there to see, just big dollar car owners winning on a weekly basis All the while NASCAR is ran like a dictatorship, where you aren't able to question its authority, again HOW BORINNNNNG!!! yawn!!!!
I think what they need is to get REAL Production Cars back into the frey like Earnhart, and the real drivers who made NASCAR what it used to be. Let the drivers drive, Chevy MonteCarlos, Dodge Chargers, Ford 500's, you know the kind WE USED TO DRIVE out on the streets (only much tamer of course )instead of these little plastic cars with decals to look like YOUR Car (by the way, what kind of car is TOYOTA representing as a big CAR?? other then DECAL'S protrying them as road vehicles with big V-8's????)

The Tony George-haters should just shut up. The Hulman/George family have never asked for one penny from Indiana taxpayers, and by putting up their own money, they bring in unknown millions to your economy three times a year. I would think you'd fools from from Indiana would be a little more appreciative!
Secondly, you are wrong. The Indy 500 is still the "world's largest single-day sporting event". The racing is vastly superior in the IRL era to that which existed in the CART era. You should quite b****ing about TG and attend the race. I fly in from Arizona (helping your state budget) and believe me, I am coming to support TG, not you.

What a shame.

I was there in 71, 72, 73, 74, 76, 77, 79, and 86. It was far better back in the day. Tony has turned it into...

"Attention K-Mart Shoppers, we have a blue light special on Indy Car entries"

Since Tony George founded the IRL, cars and fans have been in decline at the Indy 500.

It's long past time to cancel the minor league IRL and bring back the Major League ChampCar and its top-flight cars and drivers.

Will the sisters please throw Tony off the Board and get someone in there who can save the Indy 500?

End the split. Fold the IRL. Save the Indy 500.

Nowadays, half the entries are from the team "TBA."

TBA = Tony's Bank Account.

Fewer and fewer care about the Indy 500, anymore.
