This was not a merger or unification,it was a buyout. TG paid $10 million dollars for Champ Car and decimated it. The teams chose to join the Irl after the sale. TG had spent over $400 million dollars propping up the Irl and it was not successful in the last 12 years. The Irl was in trouble when KK decided to sell to TG. It is still the Irl with a few cars added. It was a quick sale, not a quick merger.
Really don't have much hope for an Indycentric series. |
