Well today was quite a day for me. I left the house around 6 AM to catch the 18 Corydon to Downtown. Only problem is it broke down, and all the people were made to wait for the next bus 12 minutes later. Then I made it downtown at 6:23, just in time to watch my connector bus (28 Brookside- Omands Creek) fly by a couple of minutes early. I waited until the next bus came at 6:33, but that bus only dropped me off at King Edward and Logan, so I phoned transit at the Shell station, and the recording informed me the next bus would come at 7:17. Unfortunately, the bus flew by at 7:11,I waved at the driver, but he ignored me and continued on his way, just as I was leaving Shell for the bus stop. I called a cab, and shelled out $6 to get to work, whre i was 30 minutes late. Thanks Transit! I was late for work thanks to the shitty service you provide. I miss Calgary Transit. The smooth ride of the C-Train which breezes through the city at 70km/h. I miss the friendly drivers, and the on-time and reliable bus service. At $2.25/fare, it the same price as Winnipeg Transit, but unlike Winnipeg, have good service.

Why don't you call the mayor and tell him your concerns. He is the one who shelved the rapid transit plan for the city. Hopefully you didn't vote for him. Maybe you should run for mayor and give him a run for his money. Sounds like you have some creative, innovative ideas for public transportation in the city.

If it were upto me, Glen Murray wouold still be mayor of Winnipeg. Sure he was gay, but he was a damm fine mayor. Sam Katz should of stuck to promoting sports events.

I thought Murray stepped down to run for the feds. So he wasn't even in the running for the last election. So it is indeed wistful thinking in a fantasy world to want him back for mayor. Truth is he doesn't want the job. I think YOU should run for mayor in the next election. You go for it.

I agree wpg has horriable transit services,Yesterday I thought the bus was going to take my car out.. I think if they offered a better service more people would be willing to take it. With the new Hydro building coming up and not enough parking downtown you really think they would have put together a better transportation system..

They could have done that, but that would be considered "progress", something which the average Winnipegger doesn't know about.

I agree with the person who says take it to the mayor. Whining on this site won't go anywhere.

Funny how you mention that there were 2 buses that both blew by you early...you are full of it! Sorry but late maybe, early - no way! no way it would be 6 minutes hot..im not getting into the reasoning behind me knowing this to be completely false, but it is! And then the 2 mintues thing leaving downtown early too..not a chance! You were mad because a bus broke down, and then had to add to the story to make it all that more interesting on here, but sorry its not believable! period! And do u think the bus driver enjoys braking down and having to sit and wait and then be late for the next trip. Or the next bus that had to pick you up that now has an extra entire load of people that he has to load and unload which will now make him late too, and then he has to deal with all the complainers like you that have NO IDEA he just did a good thing and picked up a whole load of stranded passengers to try to get them to work on time...yea nice..so now he has to try and hurry up and try to get back on time to avoid any calls in about him being late, when in fact he did it for passengers like yourself! Its a visious cycle and the drivers is always the bad guy! If you actually knew the whole story to begin with you would realize how often these drivers go above and beyond for their passengers! How about the man who missed his last bus to St. Norbert the other day, so the driver called at the end of his shift and got the Ok to drive this ONE man home once the driver was already done for the night...which took him an extra hour of his time at 3 am in the morning! I could go on with stories for ever, so just remember, there are jerks in every job, but i belive there are more amazing bus drivers in winnipeg that go above and beyond for you the passengers than there are the jerks..but it seems to be getting worse everyday when they come across comments like u see on here! It hurts the good ones to read this crap! eventually YOU make one of the good ones into one of the jerks! They are human just like you! remember that! They are working every day for you, there are other jobs they can do, but they enjoy driving bus..for now anyways! Cheers! Say hello and have a great day when u get on, and u will notice just how nice the most of them really are! Have a great day!

Winnipeg Transit buses NEVER come by early, because that would be physically impossible! Nobody has EVER complained about a bus being early in Winnipeg throughout the history of time. You are so correct, and everyone else is wrong...

Obviously never say never, but reading his whole post is why it is unbelievable! Funny how in that whole post that i wrote that the only part you commented on was that part..i wont even waste my time because you are only one in a million! All I will add is that its too bad accomidations are not vented like complaints are in this city!

Yes, and if I hear any more complaining about transit drivers, I will make a detour during rush hour, and I will let everyone off in Headingley!!!

ExpressBus
|
Telebus gives an estimated time that that express bus arrives at stops once it leaves downtown. Unfortunately, it estimates on the high side and gave you a time too late. However, had you planned to be at the stop 5 minutes early like you're supposed to you would have made your bus.
Hey, at least you don't risk losing your whole day's pay for being late for work like a bus driver does.

i find the bus drivers in winnipeg to be top notch,,, the problem is not them its the managers who decide on how to schedule and deliver service,,,for ex. how can you have a major bridge like the charleswood bridge and no busses on weekends or after 6 on weekdays??if you have to cross bridge to work at these times you have to first go downtown and back track,,, get real..this is only an example.. and even with the price of gas ,, its still cheaper for me to drive to work when you factor in the time i spend waiting at the transfer points..

Well first King Edward and Logan is not a timing point for the 28 so it is an estimate time. Secondly why weren't you at the bus stop, if you were you would not have missed the bus!! Finally are you that lazy you can not walk from King Edward and Logan to your job!!?? Hurry move to Alberta were the cost of living is so HIGH!!
