I'm sick of Christian commercials

I'm sick and tired of these so called moral christians on TV. Whether it's ths american televangelists like Jack Van Impe predicting the end of the world and the coming of some supernatural creature called jesus. And unless you buy his jesus books/tapes/videos you will not be saved and you will for eternity suffer great pain. OUCH
Then there's our local charlatan from calvary temple, Bruce Martin who is as phony as a 3 dollar bill.Only an evangelist would buy ads on TV and radio.He thinks you can't be happy without jesus and you better give yourself up or suffer for eternity.

It's the same theme...give yourself to a mythical character (jesus,god,or whoever)and you will live forever. Simply put...they use fear and human nature (afraid of the unknown)to control their following.
That's fine and dandy but these folks are trying to gain political influence and that is a recipe for disaster. Bush is a born again recovering addict and we all see what he has accomplished, By the way Harper is another born again.
He belongs to the alliance church of canada.
It's a real shame that humans can't get over their past fears and biases and get along. If there were no religion,
the world would be a better place. Perhaps people would stop saying..."he/she has gone to a better place" when they die.

I got a great story about that Bruce Martin guy. A few years ago, I was visiting a friends apartment on the corner of Hargrave by calvery temple. We were on the balcony and waving a bombers flag and cheering like the drunken idiots we were. Then we here some guy below who says ,

"hey guys, do the world a huge favor and jump"

We looked down , and it was the man of God himself.

As much as I think you are correct about extremist religious types, I think I would fear a world with no religion more. Just think what some world leaders or even some business types would be like if they did not fear that they would face the maker at their death. However, the extremist screw up the works. Most people just want to live their life, love their family and die old but the extremist freaks want you to do it on their terms only. I could not care less if you only want to eat one way or the other it affects me not. I do not care if you want to use your work break to pray it affects me not. It is the people that want you to change for them that the grief starts. The right to swing your fist ends at the contact with someone else’s nose. All this said radio and television advertisements are how they pay for you to get the programming you want to listen to or watch.

Yeah, you are so right. The clergy get up there and preach about how to "do the right thing" meanwhile they are screwing around on their wives or they are swingers or bisexual or whatever. Their defenders say they have a right to a private life. But I ask you why would I follow someone who is intruding into my private life, telling me what "the right thing" is while they are living such a wrong thing kind of life? Why would I bother going to a church that holds such people in such regard. They are all phonies and hypocrites. You got that right. Totally right.

Besides looking gay (obvious) he is in a gay profession just like the gay interior decorators on TV. You know the more you put down gays...the more chance you have of being a gay. Most of us don't care (unless we get hit upon)about gays or lesbians. We don't talk about how morally wrong it is to be gay every Sunday! Who cares....the evangelist do...they hate homosexuals...they hate sex unless the man is on top and married. Not necessarily to the woman or man below but he is married so it makes everything ok with god and jesus and the tooth fairy and santa and ghosts.

umm...I used to attend CT for a couple of years back in 2002-2003. I don't think I ever heard him put down gays (although I only heard him 10 times or so..). Secondly you are an idiot for saying that being a Pastor is a "gay" profession. Sounds to me like you are anti-Christian. That's fine by me, but what happens when I track your IP# down, come to your residence, break into your home, and beat you with a baseball bat until you lay dying on the floor. So is the historical record of abuse of aboriginal people by so-called Christians. So what defines a Christian then?
