Hope that someone can speak to her about this and possibly send her to Charm and etiquette school before the bus company lets her drive again. The bus fare is so expensive. With drivers like this also Winnipeg will get a worse Reputaion than it already has. Thanks for listening. I sympathize eith you about the mean b**** driver but you have to remember that this IS WINNIPEg where there is not a hint of class or friendliness. Rudeness and ignorance is the standard in this city.

There are aproximately 15 'spotters' now in Winnipeg. They don't work for the city and are part time employees. I think the job is described as 'quality control'. They must sign a contract saying they must mention the driver as a known friend of relative if they happen to run across those. That is how, anyway, they have done in Calgary and Edmonton with spotters.

As a Winnipeg bus operator, let me ask you this. You work at a desk. You have forty people in your office talking out loud. Some of these people are drunk. There are 2 babies in your office crying. Most of these people are staring at you over your shoulder making comments out loud about how you are performing your job. You get no coffee or lunch breaks. You know that some of your friends who work with you have been assulted quite badly and 2 have been shot at recently. How long would you stay at this job and how polite would you be to these people after 8 hours? Give me a f*#*king break you f*#*king whiners... SHUT UP!!!

On Saturday ,just for fun on 1 inbound trip from St.Norbert I decided to do a little test. I didnt look at one bus pass or fare. I just looked people straight in the eye ,smiled and said "good morning". Out of 32 people on that trip 3 returned it ,the rest either looked right at me and walked by without saying anything or looked at me like I was a piece of garbage. Busdrivers do their best but we are only human.

Your critics are likely the very difficult, unpleasant people that no one should have to put up with.

I like when people think that a bus drivers job is so easy...."All you do is sit on your ass all day". I also like the phoney people who go online to complain. YOU ARE all scared little cry babies....you don't tell us what you think to our faces..you hide behind fake internet names and profess how we are rude and don't do our jobs. You sit on the bus and stare off into space and think that everyone else should take care of you and tell you where to get off. You wanna know how easy our jobs are..I will tell you: 1) Get to the office on time..get out schedules and head out to a diesel smoke filled garage and get our bus ready. But don't leave early...we have to wait in the diesel factory until our schedule says we can leave.*COUGH COUGH* 2)Navigate our was through the the tracks with only about 1 foot on either side of of the bus. 3)Head to our starting point so we can begin our day of abuse.

CONTD.... 4)Setup our signs and begin driving. 5)Remember the route I have to drive.(I personaly have 4 different weekday routes and 3 weekend routes) 5)Remember 500 plus street names because people can't take care of their own lives and ask the bus driver to help them. so I have to call out every street name everyday for 8 hours just in case you are reading a book or the newspaper and are not paying attention to your own affairs. 6)Navigate through a city of drivers who think they are all professionals because they drive for 10 minutes a day and have 5 merits....well news flash..having 5 merits does not make you a good driver. Try driving a bus for 8 hours a day and having 5 merits...then you can brag. Getting cut off all day everyday. Drivers who won't let us change lanes. Drivers who park in the bus stops so little old granny has to now get off in the middle of the street..Pedestrians walking in front of my bus and then give me the finger and complain because I honked the horn at them and saved their life. I could go on for hours and hours..but I will spare you... 7) Listen to people tell me that I am late and they will miss their connection to get home. Well news flash for you all. Take that silver spoon out of your mouth and realize that sometimes things don't work out the way we plan....I don't wanna be late...and you think you got problems cuz I am late?? how about the fact that I have to take a PEE PEE or POO POO so bad that I can taste it but guess what I AM LATE so I can't do it..I have to wait another 2 hours until I get back on time and find a place that lets bus drivers use the bathroom. My bladder is about to explode and you are worried about getting home 10 minutes late? I am so sorry to inconvience you.. 8)If something else should not go right in your little world you get all pissed off and forget that we are humans too....I am sorry I did not hear the bell and I missed your stop..I am sorry I did not see you while you were hiding behind the bus shelter smoking, sometimes these things happen deal with it...there can only be one perfect being in this world and I guess you are it. 9)Have I mentioned through all of the above situations that we are humans and we also need to eat and drink...You know how you get your 1 hour lunch and your 2 15 minutes breaks? Try doing that as a bus driver. 10)In the summer, while you are working in your air conditioned office wearing a sweater we get the pleasure of sitting in the ovens they call buses. and you have the nerve to complain because you have to ride in the oven for 10 minutes....try this......WE DON'T GET TO GET OFF THE BUS IN 10 MINUTES....we get to ride in there for 8 hours..and then we get to get dirty looks and sighs when I run into 7-11 to get a cool drink so I don't pass out from the heat....thank you very much... Oh, and in the winter can you please look after yourselves and dress warm? You all expect the bus driver to be responsible for the way you dressed in -45 weather and yell at us because you are freezing because I was late? and ladies...you really don't need to wear high-heels in a blizzard...I am sure Mr.Right will look past that. The moral of the story is "LET HE WITHOUT SIN CAST THE FIRST STONE" in other words unless you are perfect shut the hell up or tell the driver if you are upset...don't hide behind your phoney phone calls to transit or phoney internet names.......

winnipeg bus drvers are awesome and i feel sorry for them that they have to deal with soo many bitchy people everyday. people stop complaining and keep an eye on your stop other then expect bus driver to yell out for you. think about it they have soo many people on board and for the safty of people's live they must have to pay attnention on the road other then yelling out bus stop names for you and answering the stupid questions. Next time don't sleep in the bus and as far as concerned for the blind people i have seen as soon as they step in the bus operator ask them about their stop. i have been traveling in bus for almost 5 years on different routes in winter and summer time and never had any bad experince

It appears we have a war here between the bus drivers and passengers. I am not a bus driver but I feel it is not necessary to call out every single stop. In order to help the people who are blind; they should request the stop when they get on the bus. I think this is the best way because most of the time I could not understand a word coming out of the bus driver's mouth. It would be so nice if buses have the same technology in announcing stops on a Subway, verbal and visual. In life it is impossible to escape the encounters of rudeness but when you are an employee representing a company you have no choice but to be polite and helpful. P.S. Why do you bus drivers get annoyed when passengers get on the bus going for example in a downtown direction and remain on the bus to go in the opposite direction. Winnipeg is a cold city and in some parts dangerous and I see it is the most convenient way to avoid most troubles if I rode on a bus as soon as I see one whether its not going in the right direction.:(

I have to say i understand that point when it is cold or to avoid trouble but sometimes they ride around just so they don't to wait there for 5 or 10 min for me to come around. But i have to ask you this do you have breaks at your work? when your on your break do you still have to do your job or do you relax for the 15 mins that you get? You see for us on that time that we are turning around that is our break and time to ourselfs to relax from driving these crazy streets and rude passengers (not saying your one). Do you know what it is like to get cut off 3 , 5 times in one trip when we have people standing and when we wait for people to cross the street and they don't even say thanks for waiting and we are avoiding accidents everyday cause of inexperince drivers out there. Don't get me wrong i like driving the bus, i like working with the public but i need my time as well to keep my stress level down so i can keep getting people to there stop safely.

Hey, the bus drivers are just acting like your average Winnipeger: rude, unfriendly , and with no shred of class. They should mind their own bussiness too - how rude to stare at others - so weird! Winnipeg reminds me of Siberia and the movie,'Night of the Living Dead'...creepy man!

Re: bus drivers who hate passengers who are on the bus during break time.
I understand your reason by the mere presence of people cause you stress. While I am seated during the turn around I don't make a noise or approach the bus driver with questions; further I don't see other passengers disrespectfully asking questions yet once in awhile I still encounter a rude bus driver. You would have to understand that the bus you drive in is not your property and its not a place where you could isolate yourself from the world. Maybe the transit system should install a blind for the bus drivers to pull down to block themselves from the public. Further the mere mention of the bad experiences during your commute is not only experienced by bus drivers but to all drivers in the world and much worse in other parts of the world such as LA. I think the best way for this is for all people is to go see a psychologist. Sorry for living.
