What is even more revealing is that China has not yet even covered this in the news.

Is it a secret?

That's just an excuse to defend news censorship.

Executive order from Beijing: No bad news about China is allowed.

I guess in response to your concern, the executive order has changed and the bad news article showed up. China is pretty responsive to their readers, aye.

English news:

Chinese news (some with photos):
http://news.qq.com/a/20080709/002936.htm

Sorry, you had just lost another excuse to complain about Chinese censorship. If you can read Chinese, you can see that there are a lot of other "bad news" being reported by Chinese media.

On the other hand, I cannot find any Canadian bad news being reported in Canadian media.

Then your reading skills are sadly lacking. Perhaps you need to go back to school.

www.chinadaily.com.cn <--- ZERO bad stories about China
www.cknw.com <-- 34 bad stories about Canada

Seriously, do you even know how to use "google"?

And those news stories mean nothing to 99.99% of Canadians because:

ONE: They do not even talk about the case at all or the circumstances of her death

TWO: It is all in Chinese

So, because there are no stories in English, it is obvious that my original position stands: executive order from Beijing: No bad news before the olympics.

Foreigners can't read Chinese, nab!

So if Canadians don't care, why should Chinese? She is not a Chinese citizen is she?

I am pretty sure there are plenty of people in Canada who could translate China Daily. I guess its Chinese government's fault too for not providing news in every language to the world.

Some logic you have.

That's some funny crap. Chinese news of course should be in Chinese. Should Canadian newspaper publish in Chinese now? Your claim of China hiding the news has obviously proven false.

Where is it on the China Daily website then? It is nowhere to be found. Lots of very positive stuff about the communist party and Olympics preparations, and the great accomplishments of the government, as usual.
What pap. His claim has been proven obviously true. It will be interesting to follow this story when the facts emerge. Her friends and relatives here are saying she was very dissatisfied with her shady employer in Shanghai.....

I'm sure in your mind the death of a model is more important news than the Olympics but seriously this is just some trashy tabloid level news. Maybe instead of reading newspaper, you are better off reading People Magazine.

Its only on the local newspaper in Shanghai, as that is a local story with local significance. Of course you won't see it on China Daily. Local Chinese in LA murdered for example would only go on LA times, not NY times.

Yes, the stuff about the cheerleaders, and the panda's new home.....these are clearly of national importance......and the ridiculous volume of stories praising one government policy after another......people must be informed promptly about that......
Grasp at more straws, why don't you.
You know it's all rigged, or you never have been there.....

Um, yes, just like how Roger Clements trial is on the front page of USA Today. Sometimes I really question newspaper's judgement on relevancy. Either way, she is Canadian so there is no point for ordinary Chinese to focus on her as there are many more other murders and important issues to report. I guess for people like you, when this kid of garbage is not being reported on center fold it is considered as black out by the government and human rights violation.

In Canada the violent murder of a foreign guest would be national news. In China under the Communist Dictatorship, it is something to be hidden. To you it is "this kind of garbage".

Who are the unbiased, responsible journalists, and who are the morally bankrupt apologists for a dictatorship?

Seems pretty clear to me.

lol, you really believe your own BS don't you. Short of a famous celeberty, I highly doubt you will see a random murder being in the front page of any country unless there is nothing else to report on.

Last week, there were 10 murders, 24 rapes, 397 robbery, 374 felony assaults, 352 burglary, 718 grand larceny, and 242 grand larceny attempts in New York City according to NYPD record. I did not see any reporting of that in the New York Times. Obviously they tried to hide something, and covered up the "bad news".

http://www.nyc.gov/html/nypd/downloads/pdf/cr...

So you want to see China Daily to become a tabloid new media.

A French guy was thrown out of his 20 floor apt by robbers in Guangzhou last week and never heard a peep about that.

The gov always hides these things here in Happy Land, no bad things happen.

Daily Horoscope for January 6

Scorpio

Don't let yourself be caught up in a crowd mentality. Just because someone else makes a major production out of what should be a simple matter, doesn't necessarily mean that it has to affect you adversely. You might be able to bring down the volume with a tap on the shoulder and a meaningful look. Even though it might not seem like it, your cool head is definitely appreciated at times like this.
