Compensation talks for Tobique First Nation to begin in October

Land claims are only good if we do not serender. Make it our land. They make more money everyday, How much land is made? Get it Back and kick all sqauters out on there ass at the government's expense.

I grew up on the Tobique and attended High School with Makiseet students. A lot of strong friendships were made during those teenage years and continue to today. There are Maliseet and white marriages which produced a lot interracial families in the area.
There are no longer any full blooded Indians in this area. The nice thing is that the majority of the people live in harmony which is a good thing.
The Europeans, who settled in this area taught the Indians new things and the Indians taught them their customs. I had a friend, when it was discovered she was Indian had her status card presented to her in her Sixties. When she was told about the tax free status she responed by saying, "How is that fair, pay no taxes, what about the white half of me?" She refused the house on the reserve as she already owned one and continued to pay taxes until her death a few years ago. Being half Indian never effected our friendship.
Friendships is what keeps the Harmony on the Tobique.

whoever wrote this is obviously clueless and a real idiot , i just had to say ....for you to say there is "no longer any full blooded indians in this area" what an uneducated comment that was , the stupidity of that whole post kind of made me realize that some hillbillys are just dumb!

all natives are under educated and stupid not dumb

whatever poeple think and say...i was in learn some very good friends their in tobique and other places in northern america.
to learn from the history is a gift for the future.
in front of somethings to write here....
shut on your brain, you go to talk about people with a great history and i'm proud to call them friends.
