name your own lake or road

With 15 lakes named after people that had nothing to do with Lac La Biche and roads being designated to family names that are millionaires it makes me wonder about our history and who deserves what name on what lake, road or structure. Is it time to start a group of true born locals to judge and decide, who, when, where, why and what is a good reasonable amount of family history to deserve a designation. Do we need some control like public votes on re-nameing or adopting a name for something new. I see nothing named after the hard working citizens that have 6 or 7 generations of family born and raised here, is it only the rich and infamous that get to clam the naming game. Where are the names for Cardinals, Bouchers, Disels, Hockos,Fyiths, Chehadis, Macors, Biollios and all the other family names that have stood the test of time and generousity for 75 years or more. Lets give credit its due where its due by setting some standards and guide lines for naming places, roads and lakes. We could give all citizens some fame by naming the pond or is it a slough at the gateway to town, name it the," locals poo slough" or " the stinky pond". Anyway, what Im saying is should we have better control over what names get placed in our 200 years of history.

It appears that the region fails to make reasonable fair rules and regulations for everyone to follow. They do seem to tip the hat in favor of the upper class citizens, as if money means your smarter but lucky fits the glove better.
