Halifax man Peter James Dominix facing Child Pornography charges

This man was my daughters Pre-school teacher!!!

This man has worked in preschools, and early childhood develoment centers for the past 15 years!!

He was my daughters day care teacher. Sick f*ck ought to die!

This man worked in my children's daycare - he was their teacher. The week he was arrested my daughter's class was learning about "Safety" - who to trust and ask for help if you need it and the difference between right and wrong. This disgusting pig helped teach about these things and all the while he was the one to watch out for!

I hope you rot in the deepest pits of hell Peter!!

This man worked with my cild too. I can't believe this, I would like to know the court date.

Peter was my sons daycare teacher too. I can't believe his dirty pervert fingers touched my child even to put on his mittens or pass him his food. You sick, sick bastard. You will be judged. Thank god The owner was on top of the strict protocals, thank god!

court date is November 30, Spring Garden Road Court House Halifax.

My husband and I will be attending court that day if it is open to the public. He was my daughters pre school teacher. My husband and I had reservations on our daughter going there because of a middle aged man working in a daycare, we thought it was strange. But after getting to know him we liked him alot. So, our question to Peter is... did you start working in this industry so you could be close to kids, so you could play with our daughter while she sat on your lap? Or, was this fedish something you developed while working with kids? That is the question Peter!!! And if it was so maybe you should have changed your job! McDonalds is alway hiring. In the event you are reading this post do you know how hard it is as a parent to protect our children? Do you know how hard it was for me as a mother to a 5 year old little girl to ask her if you ever touched her private parts?

Oh by the way, hats off the First Memories daycare for taking the 5 minutes to pick up the phone and advise us of the downfall!!! We had to hear this a week later through word of mouth. My daughter went to school there for a whole year with this man as her teacher, you could have called or sent a freaking letter so we knew and could talk to our daughter!

You too? My son started school this year but had Peter as a teacher for a year at the Halifax MFRC daycare. They did not attempt to contact us at all. We also found out about a week after the arrest. The daycare circulated a notice to the parents of the children who are still at the daycare, most of who would NEVER have met Peter! I'm sure there are parents out there that still don't know what this man did! We too were taken in by this man!

Peter ia a close personal friend of ours for the last 21 years. we are as shocked as anyone can be there at the center. I had absolutely no idea he was involved in this stuff. In fact our grandaughter goes there. Carol and the staff at the center are the finest kind around, and I feel terrible for them. There was a letter cirqulated on the same day as Peter was arrested by the way (to the parent from lunenburg). We are in shock here and can only pray for Peter. What a messed up world!!!

There are at least 2 daycares involved: First Memories in Beaverbank, and Lilypads in Halifax. He did not last long at Lilypads and went back to First Memories until his arrest. The management at First Memories should take a serious look at their policies - and seriously question why previous recommendations regarding his dismissal were not heeded. Shame on them.

When he left the MFRC Daycare we weren't given any explanation. Just told that he was gone. At the time, I suspected he was accused of something but no proof and decided to leave while he could.

As frightened and disgusted as I am by this, please remember that Peter has been charged and has not yet been convicted.

I feel horrible for the numerous childcare facilities that Peter has been involved with over the past decade. These centres preformed mandatory child abuse screening and I am certain they also checked his references before hiring him for the positions in their daycares. Obviously they did not notice any oddity in his behaviour or they would not have recommended him for employment.
First Memories must have been happy with his childcare abilities in order to rehire him after he was dismisses from Lily Pads. I observed first hand as a parent why Lily Pads terminated his employment and am confident that it was solely due to the difference in him and the other staff. He was noticeably not a fit amidst the chipper, energetic people there who are always interacting with the children and their parents.
Kudos to the owners of Lily Pads who sat down individually, face to face, with all of us parents and discussed Peter's arrest. I am so grateful for the intuition of Lily Pads Director and the higher level of care she expects from her staff. I see the daycares involved as victims just as us parents are. They trusted Peter as we did, so shame on him. Yes I know he has not been convicted, and everyone is innocent until proven guilty however child pornography is not something that you just come across on the internet, you have to know where to obtain it.....so how could this be an accident.
Good luck tomorrow Peter, I will be thinking about you way I drop my child off in the morning to your previous co-workers, and I will be doing so with great ease knowing that those staff are the real deal. May justice be served to you Peter.

While I understand the anger and frustrations from the parents who have child who attended this daycare while Peter was employed there, one should not place blame on the daycare owners. My daughter attended FM last year and I found the owner to be extremely caring and responsible.

It is my understanding that Peter did leave FM to go to a new daycare and came back but his explanation was that the new daycare did not have enough children to keep him employed. He was a previous employee that had no complaints against him while at FM so why would she ever question him? Furthermore, if a background check had been done at that time, I would assume that it would have come up clean- allegations may have occured at the other daycare but unless charges are laid and he is convicted, I don't believe that anything would show up. Hindsight is always 20/20.

I also feel it is important to note that during the time that my daughter attended this centre- Peter was a "floater" and he was never allowed in the washrooms to assist with toileting or diaper changes. There were several women who worked at this daycare and there was no need for him to be in the washroom. This is a pre-cautionary measure that many employers with men working with small children put in place to avoid putting them in situations were potential allegations can occur. FM was smart to do this.

I am as upset by this as everyone else with children who attended this centre but it is important to keep the facts straight and not channel your anger towards the daycare. I am sure that the daycare owner and coworkers are just as upset and feel betrayed by Peter too.

My grand-daughter went to First Memories while Peter was there.....many times when her mom went to pick her up Peter was the one outside that was watching the children....She adored him........it gives us such a sick feeling to know that he would pick her up and hug her...why is it not law for the daycares to notify parents of former students about this.......here it is Dec 13th and we are just finding out about it.....I hope he hangs for what he has done......sick son of a @$#%^^
