Trans-fat-free restaurants in Calgary just one small step on road to health

Please note that my family will not be purchasing ANY Dare products until Canadian Girl Guide cookies are transfat free.

This is the simple note that I recently emailed to Dare.

After perusing the internet, giving it some late night thought and phoning Girl Guides Canada, I realized that Girl Guides Organization is either unable or unwilling to lower their trans fat content in their cookies until required to do so by law.

This is too bad, really as, had they been able to respond to the pleas from parents, guiders, members of the public, and concerned national health care organizations, they could have shown their concern for others, and their ability to show leadership in problem solving. Yes Girl Guides does good things for girls, but selling trans fats to the families of those girls isn’t one of them!!!!

A quick wiki look at trans fats will tell you that they do kill people and that no amount of trans fat is considered safe. There is ample evidence that they cause death from cardiac disease, and they are implicated in other negative health consequences as well.

The truth is, though, that we have no idea what kind of binding cookie contracts Girl Guides may be involved in. I suspect that both Girl Guides and Dare hold some of the power cards in terms of making changes to the cookie recipe.
I would like them to think about that.

I hope to see a reasonable fundraiser from those usually creative people at Girl Guides Canada soon.

Probably those that eat those packaged cookies do not need them, more than likely, 99% of the time that is the case. Restaurants are not different in the food they serve you than the McDonalds, or BK. It is all prepared, and it is all full of fats. Get your heads out of the sand. Try eating at home, try doing your own cooking.
Was at the emergency the other day, son broke his collar bone, I could not believe all the fat broads in there, all they needed was not a doctor but a diet. You see so many fatties in wheelchairs that is not necessary if they just went on a diet. I just look at them in disgust.

I rarely eat out, restaurants serve crap, they all do. We eat at home, I am an excellent cook, and can cook anything. There are no fatties in our family, nor obese slobs. I am disgusted at the amount of fat pigs in this Country, and most are young women. It is disgusting. Want to diet, just walk anywhere, the fatties will kill your appetite. And why is it the fat ones are the ones eating foods bad for them? They are so stupid and without a clue they have to have someone do the thinking for them, so lets all go trans fat free, because of the overloaded dummies out there, who cannot think or do for themselves because they are do damn lazy to even do that.
No I think this is ridiculous. But trust Calgary to come up with this one.

I found the only good places to eat in Calgary are the pubs. They serve really good food, if you are fored to eat out, that would be my choice. Mind you some of the places portions are way tooooooo big. That is another reason I do not eat at restauarants,(not just because the cooking is inferior to mine), too much food on plate, especially fries or veggies (I call it filler, cheap).
Anyone who thinks the food at a restaurant is better than the food at the gag and pukes is only fooling themselves. Anything you eat at a restaurant is full of crap here in North America.
Paul would probably eat cow dung and think it was good. He has no taste.
