Now get ready for the Chinese invasion. If you want to see Hawaii don't bother with Waikiki or even Oahu. It's all been raped and sold off to the big **** called money. What a shame. I too long for the old ways but they are gone gone gone. There are a few places left but his honor(?) will pave those over with his train. And the ag land will be paved over by developers granted zone changes for merely asking.

To Alice
I beg your pardon all to hell. This was not a DUMP. This was a second home to all of us! Stay at the Hilton. You were not part of us! We will not miss people like you.

This is by far the one of the worst 'corporate moves' I have seen in quite some time. Just goes to show what money can do without any value put on humanity! I love this place - many fond memories with family & such a wonderful staff! My love & prayers to out to the wonderful staff and, you ar the best Lisa. I should know I am in the hospitality industry myself.

Yes, the news has hit us hard. The Hawaiiana staff and repeat guests are a second family to me. The warm welcome, year after year, of Christy Ann and Lisa----the reassuring presence of Aurora and Hermie and the others who quietly go about their work----the smile that lights up George's face every morning as he makes sure all is well at the pool. This, to me, is the Hawaiiana, I hope there is success in designating both the Hawaiiana and The Breakers as Historic Properties that can't be torn down because the many high rise towers have no charm.

We are also sad to see the Hawaiiana close. The highrises just don't have the wonderful homey atmosphere that the Hawaiiana had.But we still love Hawaii and will be back.
