I do not support the use of tasers as a law enforcement tool. Over the past 2 decades the police tactics have become too aggressive in this country. The police are hired by us the public to assist and enforce. Yes we have gangs and criminal activity but it is the general public who most often feels the enforcement not the 'bad guys'. Just try to say no to a police officer and you will feel the power of enforcement. Solutions lie in dealing with social issues and being compasionate - neither of which law enforcement is capable of.

The reason that the cops didn't try the TASER was because if it had killed the cow, it be hard to claim as they always do, that the cow was on drugs.

lets just ask the out of controllers politely to cease and desist,...or give them a choice, shooting or tazering...or option three, get the red scum that are taking our guns away to let us have concealed carry permits, and let us decide when to use lethal force on a criminal or maniac!..there now everyone is happy, the police are out of the decision making, and now each individual can chose what to apply, and when when to apply force to settle a situation...i feel so good to have solved this ...

The problem with this model is the wide range of mental capabilities in people and the many distorted emotions that pass through us like storms.

Many times I find myself talking out loud to strangers on a street when an angry encounter turns verbally aggressive and finally ends,

"Thank God we have tough gun laws here in Canada, eh!"

Guys like you always look at me in a puzzled way and think I'm bonkers.

That's a flash of the wide range of perceptions people may have on any given subject.

One of the major reasons we dominate this planet is because we are the most dangerous animal on it.

The control of huge societies to not wipe themselves out has caused us as a species to multiply like a plague.

Your way might directly reduce the population thereby destroying our ability to run the infrastructure---- Just like Iraq, Afghanistan.

Then we could trade our society for theirs, eh!

What a concept, Where's my AK 420?

And just because I am a liberal thinker don't assume that I can't shoot. Remember Thompson S.

I've read all I could find about the airport tasering death of Robert D, including, a work of fiction titled "Tasered" (appropriately :-) This novel really blew me away. Wow! But honesty doesn't pay, the publisher is facing a lawsuit. The author was on Oprah a couple of months ago. And surprise, there's gonna be a movie!:-)

The "active denial system" is the RCMP who now want an injunction against the findings in the Dziekanski death because the findings might find them somewhat "culpable" in his death.

"Tasered" is a good read, it kept me up until five to finish it.:-) But I thought the author was a bit too sympathetic to the cops.

I didn't think so. Pretty middle of the road, I thought. And the novel just won another award.
