Ripped cover allows liquid to leach from Countywide landfill

A synthetic cover over a landfill in southern Stark County ripped, allowing up to 5,000 gallons of chemical-laced runoff to leak out.

Wow this happened Sunday and we are just now hearing of it ? What is wrong with that picture ? We have a right as citizens to know when something like this happens . Sure they were lucky this time that it was contained within the property of the landfill but what is gonna happen when it isn't ? Will we be told about it when it happens or days later when its too late ?

Yeah, some "breaking news." Also kudos to the editors who posted a headline that says that this crap is LEACHING from the Landfill! That's professional...
