Yes the bull gears are/were a problem. If you order a truck now the bull gear has already been updated. The vendor that made the bull gear for volvo did not take into account the two different metals expanding at different rates which allows the pressed on bearing to back off. Also the guy who said he had to have all of his software reprogrammed is incorrect. There is a service program to reprogram the ecm and the acm but this is at no cost and the ecm update only changes the running engine oil temp to reduce the likely hood of the bull gear seperating. There is no current recall for the bull gear but it is coming and will involve over 20000 units. If it takes a week to replace the bull gear then you are at the wrong repair facility. It only takes two days at most and a competent tech can replace it in a day. I have done at least a dozen. As far as dpf egr def and any other emissions related issues they all have the problem 60 ser egr engines are bad about losing #6cylinder due to sooting cummins is bad about egr turbo egr coolers piston coolers and wrist pin bushings that will leave your engine with a rod hanging out of the block. So yes they all have problems thank uncle sam for most of them.

I drive a 2011 model 670 with a D13 with about 230,000 miles. it's in the shop for the second time for air in the injectors. the first time was about a month ago. the truck does have a nice ride, is comfortable, and quiet.

I had nothing but bad luck with the ISX in my 2008 International. EGR at 57,000 miles, another one at 380,000 miles; turbo at 400,000 miles; lots of downtime chasing engine codes; it ran too hot all the time: coolant temp around 190 deg F all the time, oil temp around 235 deg F all the time. I'm glad to be rid of it....

We've had our 2009, D13 engine, for three yrs and we must have gotten the one with the engine that was manufactured on a Monday or a Friday, because we have had nothing but problems with our fuel injectors and fuel system in general. The bottom line is this, Volvo engines are crap, they are money pits to the eighth degree, don't buy a Volvo with a Volvo engine.

Daily Horoscope for June 1

Gemini

You have so many things buzzing around inside your head that it's virtually impossible to keep track of them all. Do yourself a favor and try to work through things in their order of priority, otherwise you'll get really irritated with the way they spiral out of control. Don't get your wires crossed, as good news is coming later in the day, with either a financial or a romantic flavor.
