Privatize it. Sell it to FedEx. Or just shut it down, disband it

Politics is involved. The post office said they needed to cut back to 5 deliveries a week. Polititions said no, you must do five days worth of deliveries in six days. There is a 20 percent loss right there.

Privatize? No. Try sending a letter by Fedex or UPS, it would cost too much. The Post office just needs to cut delivery way down. They could cut to 3 deliveries a week, cut costs in half. Half the routes get delivery Mon.-Wed.-Fri, the remaining routes would get Tue.-Thur.-Sat. I could get by with only 3 deliveries a week.

Where do you think you'll find 400k workers who want an impossible part time job !? They work 10% overtime now and doubling the volume by cutting the delivery days won't help. How about we/our government quit taking 5 billion per year in retirement pre-funding ??? They're "required" to pay retirement money, for workers who haven't even been born .....

A lot of the overtime is because of the 6-day delivery. They have to do the routes on Sat. because Congress orders them to.

I was thinking the existing employee covering two routes. One employee and truck would cover twice the customers, doing each route 3 times a week. They could cut employees by attrition, a lot of them will be retiring in the next couple years.

Routes currently take 6+ hours to deliver, NOT counting 2+ hours office sorting time. Sounds like you like to create an OT situation where specially bred super carriers try to read/deliver mail in night time light conditions ? This idea wound have carriers working 3 very difficult 16+++ hour days. Why would ANY rational union agree to impossible work at a job which is already difficult ? How would walking carriers work 16 hours straight and read in the dark ? You OBVIOUSLY don't have a clue to how the job or PO works and your ideas are useless ! LMAOROTF !

Almost NONE of the OT is because of 6 days. They have a rotating 6th day worker who fills in for 5 carriers. Why are you writing about things, without a clue ? Try another topic or do some research ! LMAOROTF !
