What companies will hire felony truckers? Next to having a bad DAC Report what companies will hire felony truck drivers is the second most asked question I get. Apparently there is a large amount of felony truckers with past felonies who are looking for jobs. First off there is no website I can find that has a list of companies that hire felony drivers. It is going to take some work on your part.

There was a time when anyone could drive a truck with little to no education or criminal background. Those days have changed. Especially if you are a felony truck driver.

The Federal Motor Carrier Association regulates who a trucking company can or cannot hirer to drive, and the rules during the course of employment. There are only 2 major criminal issues that will prevent, by law, you from becoming a truck driver:

1.Conviction of possession or distribution of an illegal drug

2.The use of criminal force such as with a gun or knife

If you have either of these then and want to be a felony truck drivers please don't waste your money on trucking school - it will be impossible to place you with an employer. Now another issue is: felonies, can you drive truck with a felony? Yes. Can you get a driving job out of truck school with a felony? Maybe. Can you get a job in trucking as a truck driver with 2 or more felonies? No.

Right now no one should waste money in hopes of being hired as a driver with any record of any kind. One driver I know has been driving 8 years and was laid off. He was turned down for another driving job because of a misdemeanor over 10 years ago. He was attacked by a drunk in a bar and punched back. Both were convicted and fined on a plea deal. Now it comes up on computer background checks, and he can't get hired anywhere, not even in a store unloading trucks. Interviews go good until they get go that and they escort him to the door thank him for applying, and tell him we will call you if we need you.

The Federal Motor Carrier SAFETY ADMINISTRATION will not allow you to continue as a truck driver if you commit a drug crime while you are a driver NOT if you have a drug crime on your record.
SEE Qualification and disqualification of drivers
§391.15 Disqualification of drivers.

But the EMPLOYER can choose to not hire or to fire for "no reason or any reason as long as it is not a prohibited reason". I have seen drivers not hired because of misdemeanor bar room brawl. With the new computerized background checking, any minor brush with the law shows up. If a driver "forgot about" a previous drug crime and the employer finds it, they fire him for "false statement on application for employment".

I read drivers with felonies. I also have a similar problem, pos. on a pre-employment, 6 mos. ago. Hate to bother you, but do you know of companies hiring with this blemish on dac report? Have 6 mos. otr exp and drove after this test. I didn't know of this test result, until after I was driving for other carrier.
But quit job and now I'm findig out what a mistake.

No one will hire, because you are entrusted with freight that is someone else's property. If the shipper thinks stuff is missing, he will just call another company the next time. The employer can not risk losing his customers and going broke because of that.

Try dump truck, gravel, dirt, tree removal, broken up concrete, even garbage recycleing. No one worries about those loads.

I was charged with 2 felonies last year. I am now going through what is called a diversion. This means in about 3 months all my charges will be dropped. The problem is that it shows up as an open case on my background check right now. Is there any possibility of me getting a driving job now before I am done with the diversion?

I read in the Feaderal Motor Carrier Safety Administration that in Part 391.15, it states that anyone with a felony can drive trucks as long as no drug charges or charges that deal with the use of knives or guns.

I got two felonies, one for kidnapping, and methamphetamine with intent. Listen you arent gonna hire on with fedex, fucking cocacola, or even swift or jbhunt, but there are still mom and pop companies out here willing to look past your indescretions if your willing to look past theirs,i.e. no insurance, not late model trucks, questionable documentation, and if you can get freight there on time no matter what and.dont mind a little creative writing in yoir logbook to do it. Seriously go to the smallest, shittiest, independant little outfit you can find. Also if you dont scare easy and dont mind the smell of cowshit, look into some lowend bullhauling outfits

Its all B.S. They say a Felony over 7 or 10 yrs is ok. But they wont hire you anyway. A felony is a felony. What does it matter if it is 5, 10, 20 yrs old or you did it yesterday? It still shows up & thats all they look at. I have tried everywhere. Nobody will give me a try. Nobody. Its too bad because I am good . Professional behind the wheel, but It doesn't matter.

Daily Horoscope for June 1

Scorpio

Watch out when dealing with other people early on, because it will be awfully easy to get bogged down in petty details. What's more, as the Moon moves into Scorpio later in the day, it's very subjective so you may find it quite hard to separate your emotions from your thoughts. This isn't a good day to discuss anything important, unless you want to go round in circles.
