What about the people who get out there in cars and have no idea what it takes to drive a semi or what it takes to stop one. It takes 290 feet to stop a empty tractor/trailer even longer if loaded or on wet or slick roads. I have seen drivers in cars pull out in front of me thiinking that I can slow down and not hit them even though they are only 100 feet in front of me. When I am driving I have a vechale that is 70' long and the weight is anywhere from 30,000 LBS. to 80,000 LBS. Please stop, look, listen and THINK before you pull out in any oncoming traffic. The life that you save may be your own.

I haul a gas tanker for a living. for those of you that think truck drivers suck I hope you pull out in front of me and I run you over and DIE and cant stand sharing the road with cars there ignorant and impatient. When I'm loaded with gas I weigh about 160000 LBS. or 80 tons it takes me over 600 ft to stop when loaded and on top of that its explosive so for all you stupid idiots out there think before you act because if that tanker blows up you will burn to death and I really don't feeling like experiencing that.

Truck drivers are simply over paid delivery boys that think they are important to the country. They aren't. Without them we would quickly adjust to rails and short deliveries. There are too many trucks on the road and many truck drivers are dangerous and careless.

Other than that, I have nothing against them.

sure you can adjust...NOT if they could be hauled by trains do you think they are going to build rails all over the city to every business? Hardly...and short deliveries donīt pay enough to make it worth a driverīs time. You canīt pay truck payments, insurance, fuel, 2290, and other junk on 50 dollars a delivery.
Also, truckers drive more than 120,000 miles a year...how many do you drive? Most drivers NEVER have a single wreck in their entire careers. In my husbandīs career of 12 years he has had a total of ONE accident and the accident was caused by someone else in a four wheeled car..the idiot didnīt want to pay the car payment anymore so he figured that running it under the truck would get him off.

Im so sick of american do gooders that feel driving trucks is stupid and worthless WE need to ban together and show them how worthless we really are. maybe then they will wake up and stop taking us for granted. probably not thou they will just sit around and bitch about not having tp and milk at the store. and maybe before they yell about truck drivers hoging the road so bad and how they are such excelent drivers and truckers shouldnt be alowed on the roads they should just hop up behind the wheel and see how they can support their family on 28-32 cents per mile...

just over paid delivery boys... what about the women to that are just out there so you can have all the luxuries you take for granted. what about the many more regular car drivers that are careless and cause semi acidents, in four months of being on the road in the midwest I was cut off by fourwheelers around 20 times had a nasty old man drive up along side me flashing me, was nearly pushed off the road by many four wheeled drivers, and countless times had idiots sit in my blind spot when I had my blinker on and refuesed to move out of the way. on the contrary there are alot of people who know how to drive and respect the fax that semi's move all there wants and needs around. and convertin to rail.... hmmm increase the traffic on that system and have trains going by everyminute im sure you would complain about that one too. and if you think bringing home 20 thousand to 40 thousand is overpaid I'd like to know how you can pay your bills. and have a house a car and afford to raise your children. oh and pay thouse things called taxes.

Truck drivers are not the dangerous ones it's the 4-wheelers that pull in front of the truck and cause the accidents, and how many railroad tracks do you think it would take if stores started having deliveries by rail, plus there would be alot more trucks in the cities if they went to short haul trucks, cause they don't hold as much. Other than that your an idiot.

Here's proof of the kinds of hazards our truckers have to deal with. This was national news, so I'm sure most of you know about it. It was practically in my backyard and on a stretch of road I travel all the time.

I AM a 4-wheeler, but I do my best to give trucks the space they need... I let them in when most of us 4wheelers won't, and just try to show them road respect.

So... to all of you idiots out there who think driving a semi can be equated with, say, delievering a pizza, I suggest you read this carefully. The man responsible for this accident has been indicted for his careless actions.

I'd like to see YOU try and drive one of those trucks. There's only what, like 18 gears or something?
