Round Two of Truckers Protest

I was there the first time. I didn't work and it didn't work.
I've been in another strike in '89 at the Wa-B.C. border. That had some dedicated truckers involved. It got the attention of the public and had support. Maybe you should contact them. I had heard the Surrey truck drivers were interested in participating in the April one. Didn't hear anything more. Too bad.

It did work, does nobody listen to the news, read a news paper or even go to the local market?
As a result of the first protest:
Congress began questioning top oil officials.
Members of local governments have begun asking questions and looking for answers on what they can do locally.
Those looking to be elected in the upcoming polls have vowed to help reduce fuel costs by removing fuel taxes.
People have banded together in support of efforts to reduce fuel costs.
And even large retail chains such as Wal-Mart have felt the pinch.

The cost of fuel is NOT going to come down, do you think the oil companies that are raking in the money from us is going to settle for any thing less?,,,,aw no!
The cost of frieght is the numbers game we have to resort too now, and thus it's going to reflect we are "the bad truck drivers", it does not look good either way you look at it!
It looks like we are the culprits that are going to get the blame for the cost of everything we deliver to go up on prices, it's coming to that soon, and thats how the politicians want it to look like, we only drive to survive, and to bring back the respect that we ALL had at one time, but this one is the big one, that will hurt us all!We
We all need to get together in some manner to let the public people know how we feel, but I just do not know how to go about it, without causing a problem, or any type of disturbance that would make all the BIG RIG OPERATORS look like the bad people?,,,,,Please help, I have not one idea as to make this problem a better situation, or any ideas to resolving this major delima?

If these things were "already in the pipe" why is it that I have been getting emails and phone calls from Fox news, ABC news and even Raymond McKinney which is running for the 12th district US congressional Seat from Ga. all wanting to talk to myself as well as other drivers on what can be done about the fuel costs. Not what we are doing with the protests, but what can be done. What we can do and how they can get involved.

That's great. Maybe the strike got more attention than I thought. But those things were already in the works, it doesn't mean it didn't help to keep the issue alive. There was a large protest in D.C. That too will help to keep it going. Good for you. Keep it up.

I think what all drivers need to do is just stop driving or stop buying gas / diesel for one day and I believe that the oil companies, will take notice.
But it would have to happen at the same time. Very hard to do.

I did April 1st. As did many others.

Yeah me to, 5 full days at home, it was nice,#2 daughter had my new grandson, haven't been home since, now I'm in OKC I'll wait 1 day to see how the May 01 SHUTDOWN goes, looks like another bs deal, will be hauling ass Friday.

I've come to 2 conclusions:

1.. You Truckers are some DUMD SOB'S.....

2.. ALL you SOB'S JUST KEEP ON TRUCKING.. RIGHT

Oh yeah, Conclusion number 3: all the moderators on the TRUCKERS FORM are GOVERMENT PLANTS and all the web sites they plug have been deleted from my fav's file...what a bunch of idiots, but I will keep TOPIX just to give myself a laugh from time to time....

Yeah 20 yrs. Only state I haven't been to or delivered in is ND. I'm pulling doubles now, home every night for the last 11yrs.
OTR is great for some. It was for me until I got lucky. Right place @ the right time.

your part of the problem. I was an owner operator for 4 years till I found this position.
