I went to the Swift "driving school" in Memphis in '07. I went to renew my CDL in Michigan today. The Secretary of State office notified me that my CDL (and 500 others in MI) was non-renewable because the "instructors" at Swift in Memphis we're never authorized by any state or federal authority to test the students for they're CDLs and therefore my CDL is null and void. My best advice to you is to go to a 3rd party HONEST driving school and get a job with a respectable company like DART or US Express! Good luck! You'll need it if you go anywhere near Swift!

i agree had the same issue so i finally had enough bs after 8 yrs and left for a better company now i put up with 100% no bs its great life is much better beyond swift , and the grass is greener on the other side of the fence

Should have taught you to speel oops spell no commonsense ass clown! Drive the truck for Swift or maybe Gainey Transportation-Grand Rapids,MI right in your backyard-another Swift style outfit,only on a smaller scale.Gainey declared bankruptcy but manages to continue opns under Gainey;Superservice;LCT Lester Coggins Trucking(Reefer Madness) It's true many truckers bitch;but, you will find concurrence among most expd drivers that Swift,like Gainey,does not have a good rep. Fine maybe if you are starting out new and can't get hired on anywhere else.Drive 1Yr and then leave as another Swift driver commented.Owner Operator's comments about making all that $ at Swift too funny and phony.Believe whatever you want;but,Swift still remains a poor choice for any serious O/O,except fleece-purchase:-) Drive Safe!

Good advice-8Yrs seems like an eternity working for an outfit like Swift.Best of luck with your new carrier.I could not agree more-life is much better beyond Swift. At least your comments are not Swift cheerleader/recruiter variety like Owner Operator claiming all the huge $$$ Swift pays him. If that were true,nobody would leave such a great company?
