This sounds like a great opportunity but if I was to bring all my freight with me I could be sued by my current employer. Are you willing to pay my leagal bills if they do. Or maybe you don't ask your brokers to sign a no compleat contract. Anyway it makes it difficult for people to do what you are asking them to do.

The economy has tanked the freight business unless you are ALREADY established with shippers! There are so many people coming into this now it's not even funny anymore. The freight agent bus is flooding and tere are not nough shippers to service us all. Everyone I call prospecting for new business tells me they get these calls 40 times a day. It gets old and inconvenient for them after a while and they don't even want to har you talk. I started my agency last year about 8 months ago and let me tell you the competition is difficult and the carriers are worse! The freight is paying crap and the carriers don't want to haul cheap. I have ost shippers because I cannot get carriers to haul at te crappy rates they ant to pay. I cannot blame them however, everyone must work together or things are going to get worse...NOT BETTER..!! Carriers and o/op's must realize that when when fuel prices come down...so does the shippers prices that they will pay. Seems to me the carriers and o'op's have been spoiled by the high fuel costs and expect the same freight prices to be paid even though fuel prices have dropped $2 gal. from last year. If I was an o/op I'd rather run a little cheaper and keep the cash coming in rather than sit in a truck stop for 3 days waiting for the jackpot load. But that's just my opinion. I see from both sides of the fence.
