I am considering going with werner and I was hopping someone out there that drives for them or did drive for them could tell me alittle about werner.

they will give you all these false promises and then stick you where the sun doesn't shine. they will leave you stuck at there termals for days on end and then expect you to haul trailers that are over 80,000 lbs. don't do it. i promise it will be the best thing you ever do.

out of a class of 17 there are only 9 left. 275 hrs 'never ending training' program. The trainers have issues that Dr Phil cant fix. anger,compulsive,and just strange.Please re:concider that career move.Then Werner will give you a truck that may or may not run well enough to get you through your first month.Thats the truck you'll be stuck with for some time.Ask around more you'll see.

Any one out their who knows any thing about Roehl Trans or Covenant Trans I have been talking 2 both CO. looking 4 feed back pro & con. or maybe some one has a low down on a good CO. 4 some 1 just starting out in the IND I have a class A CDL but not alot of time in a truck.

stay away from covenant I already made that mistake they take money from their drivers (500.00) at a time,dispatchers are the worst,will try to force driver to break DOT regs.

thanks 4 the heads up,I sure wish I could find a good trucking co out their if their is such a thing,mabey I would be better off staying in my redi-mix truck after hearing all the nightmare stories out their I may have it better than I think

Get a Teamster Job. Yellow or Roadway They have work rules, good pay for everything you do & decent health insurance check it out!

Was wondering if any one can tell me if SWIFT TRANS is a good company to work for or not, I am lookin to get into trucking,but I want to work for a company that will treat me good

I would avoid Werner, I have been with them 2 months and have never learned to hate a job or company as fast as I have this one. I have no one to compare them to though so do not know that they are worse than any other big company.

My trainers were actually pretty good and training was not bad. My problems have been with being on my own.

Dispatch does not care about you as they know they have hundreds of new recruits waiting to take your place every week. I work 70 hours in 5 days to get 1700 miles. Of course I spend a lot of this time logged on line 1 as I am just sitting somewhere, but it is not home or anyplace I consider time off so I call it work. This is usually because of poor scheduling or load planning (I really cannot believe they pay people to plan so poorly). I have many trips that are under 300 miles, but due to scheduling cannot be completed in a 14 hour day. All dispatch has to say is that this happens sometimes. Yes sometimes I can see this, but 3 days a week? This is crazy.

I have talked to several drivers for the company in my trainig and on my own and I would have to say it runs about 70% who are not happy to 30% that are. You can put me in the 70% group.

@ Scott White -- Swift has to be the absolute worst carrier on the road ... most new Student Driver's last no more than 2 weeks and quit; that's why they, and Werner, and Arrow are doing their "rah-rah-rah" speeches all over the country.

Attention new drivers: Take a chance on a small family owned company rather than one of these big companies that will burn you out before you ever get a chance to see trucking in the real world. Trucking company recruiters lie worse than politicians. Most of your state job services have a re-training program that might be gov. funded/grants whatever. These trucking companies are like puppy-mills! Do yourselves a favor and research to the max! Before you commit yourselves in a crooked contract with one of those crooked companies. Why do you think they have truck drivers receiving bonuses for referrals? Because they suck as truck drivers and suck as trucking companies! Look at the companies that don't advertise for drivers? Make you wonder why? Yeah they are GOOD companies with good drivers lined up waiting for someone to retire. Unlike Weiner,J.B Schneider,Swifty,etc. They have to beg the governemnt or line some crooked politicians pockets to change laws in their favor. That's why you are seeing more and more foreigners in truck because the create a bullship lie that there is a driver shortage,wake up people it's a FKN PAY shortage!
