I believe the Country, as a whole should participate in this strike. In the past People have tried to start strikes, like don’t fill up or buy gas on 1 day. That does not work.
Now if everyone, everywhere did not drive for a day or two along with the Truck drivers. It might actually make a dent and wake some people up.
So on Tuesday, April First 4/1/2008 Do not drive your car. Discuss this with your Bosses.. Encourage them to do it also. It will help them and their Company save money in the long run also. If everyone supports these truckers and lowers cost everyone could save in many different ways. If Fuel cost is cut even by 50 cents. Retailers could have more sales etc, or better yet they would be able to lower their costs to the consumer. Think about it. If you support this please copy this and paste it on as many topix forums you can.
I am sure I will be bashed for this I don’t care. Bash away, I am still supporting my husband and all the other truckers out there.

I read this article at the time my step-father (who is a trucker that is on strike) was checking to see how many drivers are on strike. It made me do a lot of thinking about our economy and all the trouble everyone is about to get into. The tax break this is talking about is not even avalible to most truk drivers and as for everyone else next year when we all file taxes everyone will be paying that money back. In the end all the fuel money, the outraguos taxes, and any other way they can think of to stick it to you, is going to line corrporate america's pockets. So for everyone ,not just the truckers, go on strike because nothing will change unless we make it. It's time the middle class stopped making the rich people money while the middle class disappears. If things keep on the way their going it will be the rich people and the starving people we're close already..........
please strike for everyone!

Professional drivers are asking American citizens to participate in the "National Shut-Down"

This is an issue effecting all of us and we MUST take a stand NOW. Our government IS a major contributing factor in the outrageous price of fuel...we must take this action to get their attention. All other avenues has only fallen on deaf ears - our government is ignoring the will, and needs, of the American people.

It is hard to be a truckrs wife.... We need to pull together and Help them, so there can come a day where our men actually get to come home and spend the day with the family, go to dinner etc. without arguing over being gone all the time, what bill is going to get paid this time etc.

Good Morning All,
I've been shutdown all week and working hard taking slack from just about every news person there is telling me this wont work. I already see it working the more we get involved the better the result. Please over the weekend due you part stay parked. We are working very hard on this myspace.com/cartracer24OOIDA is trying to come on borad(lol) since they taken so much from their members screaming at them. This will not just go away by itself we must act now and Stand United as the American Trucker.

NTFSP is nothing more than some dumbass sitting around causing trouble and all the women are getting worried. He has no power or leadership. OH is my hubby going to be safe?, I'll make signs.,spread the word. LOL, LOL,LOL ROFLMAO! Women are so Gulabul! That's why Hillary won't cut it!
There was bardly a mention of the strike in the news. I would be embarrassed to be a O/O. Ladies if the truck isn't paying the bills then let it go back to the finance company and hubby can get a real job!

The truckers did not get the coverage they deserved because the media is so involved with other more "IMPORTANT" political prattle that has heaped upon the citizens. The coverage I did happen to see showed the signs, the plight, the banner - TRUCKERS AND CITIZENS UNITED - and, you know what? Word of mouth is spreading this cry and this is the momentous time in history even YOU can choose to do something about. YES, YOU, can you believe it! Yes, YOU, by supporting YOUR fellow brother and sister, AMERICANS!

Yes, I disagree with your sentiments and your statments - neglect and foolishness is what got all truckers, YOU, me and all American citizens us into this horrendous plight in the first place - wanton disregard for the security and happiness of others is pathetic. How would you like to try to run a household and decide what to spend that little money made upon? Having to make that life decision you know could make or break YOUR family? Tell me, what's it gonna be - food, fuel or shelter? Take your pick, because THAT is what it is coming down to, and ALL these wives know that ... why don't you?
