I think it's APPALLING that after SO MANY years of LOYAL service by ALL of Jevic's employees, they just shut down operations without any warning with regards to the employees and their families! For employees to show up for work on Monday morning and to be turned away by security informing them that "THEIR SERVICES ARE NO LONGER REQUIRED" is HEARTLESS, UNPROFESSIONAL and COWARDESS! Employees' benefits termed as of midnight with no warning! At least had the employees known, they could have filled needed prescriptions or made necessary doctor appointments.

THIS IS WRONG and HAS TO BE ILLEGAL! To be able to shut your doors with no notification to employees and ceasing all operations and employee benefits... offering NO severance or Cobra is just WRONG!!!!

I wish the BEST of luck to ALL Jevic employees and their families in hopes of finding new and BETTER jobs!

My father was a LOYAL Jevic employee for Harry up until his deatb in 1998. He would be appalled to know that the company he called home for so many years is treating their enployees like this. I still have my brother in law employeed with this company. I worry know how he and my sister will take care of their children and afford their mortgage. How can anyone just close their doors with no warning? How can the average american survive in this day and age? What was the company thinking? I bet if Harry was still running the company this wouldn't be happening!!! What a shame for the employees and their families!

I am sad for the drivers, but I couldn't be more happy that people in Jevic management are losing their jobs. Now they will know how it feels.

My Dad worked for them for 10+ years, and was rewarded every year for being a safe driver. On the day he received a reward for 10 years of safe driving, he was fired for being a unsafe driver. How is that possible?

Jevic also tried to fight his unemployment, and they lost. He was fired, because the safety director didn't like him, and nobody in managment would step up to fix the problem. I hope Jim I think that was his name, goes through hell in finding another job.

Stating that you "COULDN'T BE MORE HAPPY THAT PEOPLE IN JEVIC MANAGEMENT ARE LOSING THEIR JOBS" is really an unfair and just plain NASTY statement! I'm sorry that your father was poorly treated by a member of management, but crucifying and wishing bad upon the remainder of the management team is just F*#KD UP! Wishing bad upon others for the doing of ONE MAN isn't right! I am the WIFE of a "management" employee and my husband and family are going to GREATLY suffer!! I DON'T APPRECIATE YOUR COMMENT!!!!!

My father was one of the ORIGINAL Jevic employees and helped Harry form the company. He DIED with Jevic! He didn't go out with fireworks and I think he was poorly treated as well... but I'm not going to wish BAD upon anyone for the doings of one or even several!

Watch that karma, buddy! It WILL come back to you THREE FOLD!

The rising fuel costs will continually put companies out of business. Without some change in the fuel situation in the country companies shutting down will happen daily. Hopefully the next president can fix the situation that our country is in now.

All throughout Corporate America for 10+ years, the "loyalty" is a thing of the past ... but, companies EXPECT you to be loyal to them!

And, if you're not, they'll find a way to place erroneous information on your DAC report, and there's not a damn thing you can do about it.

I worked at jevic for 4 years, and in that 4 years i made a lot of friends. Although we were sold out a few times in the time i was there. It was a horrible feeling for all of us employees. Walking around on Egg shells is not a way to work a company. Day to Day week to Week it slowly went down hill. Some of us have made many great friends at Jevic. It really is bad when a company just shuts down like this. Not that we did not all see this coming. I was laid off in January and it stedily went down hill. None of us should be shocked at what happened. It is not illegal by what they did they did what they had to do. Does it S*** yes it sure does but there is nothing any of us can do. None of understand why it happened but it did. BUT NONE OF US CAN SAY THAT WE DID NOT SEE THIS COMING. Promises we were all told promises that never happend. But overall WHAT CAN WE DO ABSOLUTLY NOTHING. Best wishes to all the employees who worked for JEVIC.

Jevic is required to give you 30 days notice of closing or pay you all 30 days pay, Federal Law, The Warren Act. Good Luck to all.

I worked for Jevic for 16 years. I was an office employee. I wore many hats and bled blue. I thought there was going to be more and more layoffs, but never a shut down. I lost everything as well. I am 58 and who is going to want to hire me now?

I just wanted to let all the Jevic employees that State senator Diane Allen is urging all of you to call her office . she said the closure of Jevic may have been done illegally. You all should have been given at least 60 days notice plus be entitled to one weeks severence pay for every year of employment. I am urging all of you to call and try and get help for yourselves. My heart goes out to all of you! Good luck! Please see the front page of the Burlington County Times for the info.

Reading all of your comments pretty much sums it all up. I am still there , not sure for how much longer. It is horrible and I feel like walking out each day, but I need to collect the money as long as I can. It just wasn't fair the way this was all done. Jevic employees are the best. Good hardworking people who did not deserve this. Please hang in there and I wish all of you the best. K

Jevic might as well have had Bush announce the closing. It's directly Bush's doing. 27 years in business, killed by the U.S. government, led by the dumbest son of a bitch ever "given" the presidency. Another 169 billion for the "WAR EFFORT", while the American people lose everything. I'd like to find anyone who could be so naive or blind as to continue to support his "vision". He's too stupid to have ever had one, much less a coherent thought. Jevic will be the first of many healthy businesses that will fold because of the ineptitude of George W. Bush.
