US Xpress Is Only Hiring TEAMS

Hi, I am planning on hitting the road again. I have been in a office since Sept. 09 and really miss the road. I want to know about the idling with US Xpress. Do they have APU units. Its too hot now and will be cold in the winter without one. Thanks for any help with the decission to fly the coop.

there is good and bad things about all different trucking companies ..it all comes down to 15 dollars a hour or less.. so take the good with the bad and suck up the ac in the summer and the heat in the winter... u could be jobless like a lot of people..

I've been with USX since March of '03 and solo since Day 1. Yes, they'll ask you to team up once or twice a month and offer a bonus for doing so but they have plenty of opportunities for solo's as well.(I grossed more than $5k last month as a solo company driver, including miles, dock detention pay and retention bonus.) You can tell me I'm crazy for working here & I'll tell you I'd be crazy not to. We have a fleet of over 8,000 trucks and one of the lowest driver-turnover rates in the industry so its not just me making a good living here. Ya'll be safe.

Spent 16 miserable months with Us Express;.....Was terminated at the Colton for "making discriminatory remarks on the Qual'Com"...I asked for clarification from the terminal manager and also wanted this in writing.I didn't realize it but the company was having me "shadowed" by an undercover security man for several minutes leading up to my being called into the personnel office to be terminated.....When the terminal manager came in and heard my request for clarification on the reason for termination he suddenly started shouting at me as he stood behind me while I sat in a chair with my back to him;.......I asked him calmly if he would stop shouting at me and he only became more intense.At this point I began to feel threatened and stood up to face him;......I then told him if he didn't stop yelling at me we were going to have serious problems....Right then he started shouting" Go ahead and hit me!!!! ";....This was a que for the undercover security guy to enter the office( he had been right outside the door listening the whole time).....I had put my right fist up and was ready to punch the manager if I needed to.This was all witnessed by the Human resource girl and when I filed for unemployment US Express contested my claim.A telephone conference call was scheduled and I think this girl was the one who was supposed to represent US Express.I received my call at the appointed time and waited on hold while the unemployment rep tried to contact US Express;.........NO ANSWER!!!!!!!! So I got to keep my unemployment.......This company treats drivers almost as bad as pre-civil right African Americans and should be shut down for doing so!!!!!!!

I want an advice because I graduated from the driving school to get my class A. I applied in U.S Xpress. Is this a good company for a new graduated driver?
