He told his wife he had "no idea" why they wanted his DNA swab but "let them exclude me". Why would he run from the police if he had no idea what they wanted a second time? He had been under police surveillance for days as the DNA results were being calculated. And lets pretend for a second that maybe as plain clothed officers moved in to arrest him he became scared that he may be the victim of a violent crime so he ran, drove away from that area as fast as he could. Why didn't he dial 911 from his cell phone and alert the local authorities to his dilemma? Because he was a rapist. He raped women. And he didn't want to be raped by a man while in prison for the rest of his natural life. That guy is the coward. The cops are the hero's.

To Bodie and ODOT contractor, why dont you try and put yourself in the shoes of Mr. Loyer (my dad). See how your family would feel if they were to watch on tv and see a truck accident and call you over and over again to see if everything is ok, then receive a phone call from the columbus police department saying that your husband/brother/father/son was in a head on collision and was rushed to the hospital? It was a definite relief to see he would be eventually be ok physically, but emotionally is a different story. My mother and I spent most of the past year driving him back and forth to his appointments and can you imagine how distressing it is when you are driving to have your father screaming cause he sees a vehicle in oncoming traffic that looks like it is swerving or coming at you and him thinking that its going to happen again to him? This accident hasnt only taken an impact on my dad, it has impacted our entire family. Ive been driving from Findlay and Dayton area back to our home (about 2 hours away) while im attending college in order to help my dad get through this tough ordeal. When you get hit head on by another vehicle on the interstate, then you can talk about it. Otherwise keep your selfish comments to yourselves and think about others for a change. Its the people like you that create deformation in humanity for people to be so heartless. I thank God everyday for allowing my dad to still be with us, and maybe you should take a look around and thank him as well for allowing your family to still be with you and not taken away from you because of another heartless persons actions. I want to thank everybody for their support and the thoughtful and caring comments.

PTSD often results when a car lurches across the center line aiming to commit suicide by truck. It usually takes over a year to get over it, with medical care and counseling. Then they have to start back gradually, ride along with another driver until they can do so without stressing out. Without proper treatment some PTSD victims never get better.
