Are you serious? Unless you've gone through this then you should be quiet. And if you have then you WOULD be quiet I also drive for a living and by the Grace of God I have not had anything close to that happen to me. If his own doctor doesn't sign off on him to return to work who are you to disagree.

Maybe to show that there are many people effected when someone breaks the law. A lot of them are just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Of course that does not matter to the criminal because they are often the most self centered people on earth.

You are right. You know the saying, "the wife is the last one to know." Mr. Bynum was leading a double life; just as Ted Bundy, Jeffrey Dahmer and the likes. Does anybody watch this show? The lady may be married to one man, but there's another inside who rapes women. The wife will never see that man because he doesn't reveal that side of himself to the family...only to his victims.

One show depicted a guy who left his victim tied up in his van, while he took his wife and kid out to dinner in the family car. Can you imagine what he was sitting there thinking while he was eating with them?

The wife isn't in denial she just wants to get money out of the whole mess a free ride. Bet he never paid anything on the birth or care of the child bet he never had a job. The really bad thing is he could have taken more people with him and didn't care that shows what a nice man he was.

I don't feel sorry for those cops. This wasn't a suicite by cop, it was a murder by cop. There is no excuse for cops to put 23 bullets into the man body. The enjoy killing and shooting people, that what they are trained for and like doing. Cops are cowards.

In these days of using DNA to link someone to a crime, there must have been strong evidence that Mr Bynum was involved in the rapes.

If he was guilty, the trial and prison time would have been emotionally difficult for his family. Perhaps he couldn't deal with that and chose suicide.

It's interesting to note the correlation between giving police a sample of his DNA on June 29, and just a few days later he's dead. As the old saying goes, he "cheated the executioner".

They need to lock up the wife in a looney bin. She is an obvious nut job and this serial rapist picked the right whacko to marry that he could convince the sky was green and her grass was blue.
If she sues Columbus then the city should sue her and wipe her stupid arse out !!!!!!!!!!
But what really was the point of this story ? DNA tied him to the CA rapes and he had fled to Ohio then fled police as they tried to arrest him and then acted fool enough so they shot him. There was nothing further to write about. He's dead and we are free of feeding and housing him on the taxpayer dollar the rest of his worthless life.
I agree Trucker in this story is milking it and there are people that can't work that need him and this whiner is getting a free ride ... Get Over It and Get Back To work doing something.

OK, So the guys tries to commit "suicide by cop".
And the cops MISSED HIM with over 50% of the shots they fired!!

As another person posted, it shows how many people are impacted by another persons actions. I hope that for other people who have witnessed something horrible it validates that what they are dealing with is real. I would have liked the article to end with some referral info to local mental health professionals or at least a quote from a professional about the situation.

To ODOT worker - what the truck driver is dealing with is a very real condition - it's called PTSD. You don't have to be in combat to suffer from it. I have seen other traumatic event survivors suffer from the same thing. Some of them are never able to go back to their "normal" life. However, I'm not sure that you need to worry about this ever being an issue for you as you seem to lack compassion for your fellow human beings.

To comment maker #13 (who is so afraid of his opinion he couldn't add a name) and Bodie #18...if you read the story BEFORE you made your comments, you would see the trucker involved IS ready to go back to work, but his doctor wont release him. To ODOT worker....I see you and your peers wearing your yellow vest standing in huddles while ONE man is working. Perhaps YOU should quit milking and earn your money.
